Calvary Chapel Goer: "You're a Christian And You Voted for Obama? You Should Just Go Die"

Although we voted for Gary Johnson for president, the reelection of Barack Obama isn't freaking us out and threatening to move to Austin like so many other OC hipsters. But it's been wonderful to hear the meltdowns Obama haters are having over his victory over on KFI-AM 640, and few places hate Obummer more than Calvary Chapel. As we reported earlier, they screened an anti-Obama film in violation of IRS policy. And if you believe a JohnKen caller yesterday, Calvary Chapel is now prepared to ban Obama supporters from their Bible study groups.
You can here the audio here around the 12:00 mark, but a "Robert in Costa Mesa" called in to rail against people who voted for Obama, saying that Obama supporters were no longer welcome at his bible study at Calvary.

"Don't come to our church. The man is basically the anti-Christ," Robert railed. "We don't want any Obama people coming to our church, and if you were coming to our church and you believe in obama, stay out."

When JohnKen pointed out that Christians voted for Obama, that just angered Robert more. He then called Obama the Anti-Christ outright, and even threw in that Calvary folks didn't much like Mitt Romney because they "didn't like the Mormon part," but preferred him to Obama.

And then came the winner: "You're a Christian and you voted for Obama? You should just go die."

Think Chuck Smith will denounce this? Is Chuckie a moral guy? The answers are the same!

Please stop moving to Austin. We're maxed out on hipsters. Thx. Do come visit, though! We enjoy the people watching during SxSW.

Hence the reason I quit going to a Calvary "davidians" chapel... However why is no one talking about the blatant coverups an lies in the immediate weeks before the election. Benghazi.... Coverup! Iran firing on one of our drones.... Coverup! The General Petreaus investigation... Coverup! Obama goes to Colorado and boasts about natural gas jobs and immediately after the election he closes two thirds of the natural gas fields to development... Lie! He supports states rights for gay marriage but not for abortion... Why not? And again I ask why do you harp on chuckles for violating IRC but don't hold Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, or Jeremiah wright OR the First AME church to the same standard?

God doesn't exist, but to each their own.

Organized religion is evil.  Most churches are corporations that should be taxed accordingly.  Their primary purpose seems to be to attempt to force their beliefs and their version of morality on others.  What is "freedom" to them usually involves taking freedom away from others.

This country needs better informed voters who will vote based upon their own extensive independent research and what their heart tells them is right, and not based upon what their church, political party, employer, etc., tells them to do.

Obama won primarily because Romney would not or could not communicate his true plans for this country.  A vote for Romney was a vote for ...... I'm really not sure, even today.  At least you had a better idea of what you might get with Obama.  Social moderate Romney might have won.  Social conservative religious right Romney scared the hell out of me.  Hopefully the days where candidates could get away with vague, non-specific campaign promises and repeatedly flip flop on key issues are over, but I assume they aren't.

The wave of the future is fiscal conservatives who are social moderates.  Failure to adapt to this means death to your political party.  No more hate on either side.  More understanding and respect for each other, and working together towards reasonable solutions to the benefit of the most people possible.

Let's go to the source.  I blame Chuck Smith, Greg Laurie, Rick Warren etc. for teaching their flock to be this way.

These poor kids (Robert) clearly don't have a sophisticated understanding or a real grasp on the true tenants' or teachings of Christianity and Jesus.

Could this be the result of watching "Obama 2016" at Calvary? Probably so.

It's douche nozzles like Robert that are a toxin on Christianity.  "We din't like Romney about the Mormon part of it...He's a better man, he's moral"....WOW. Robert, you clearly know nothing about the Mormon church.  The Mormon church believes you are going to hell unless you believe in Joseph Smith and the book of Mormon...Do you Robert? Furthermore, they believe the Jesus is the brother of Satan...Do you believe that Robert? No, didn't think so.  Please enlighten us as to how you reconcile this with your leper messiah brand of religion then.

It's religious F nuggets like Robert that probably have a "NoTW" sticker on the back of his car and wear fatigues all the time citing that he's a warrior for christ.  People, beware of the Chuck Smith/Greg Laurie fools of this world.

Here's an eye opener for you Robert, you're the antichrist! I'll pull the twig out of my eye if you pull the log out of yours first.

I think after everyone who hears your un-christ like rant, we will pray for you!

Never mind that President and Mrs. Obama are church going Christians - it's all about hating the gays. That they would prefer Romney, who ran a campaign of lies and deceit, says everything.

Nonsense and hearsay. How about an article tracking the decline of household income under Obama pointing out that 67% of all new job growth during the first four years of Obama's presidency went straight to non-U.S. citizens. Now that's something to write about.

I am a Christian, I voted for Obama, and I quit going to church years ago because of people like the one in the article. I'm not "in favor" of same sex marriage or abortion; I simply don't feel that I'm in a position to dictate how others may live their lives.

Correction: you're using 'we' and Coker is using that 'this reporter' third person thing like Jimmy the Cub Report for the 1940s Daily Planet.

Just use the first person.

Yeah, my dad dragged me to the movie screening at Calvary. I went cus I love my dad, but it was creepy. Pastor started the evening by praising Jesus that he brought all those people to see the movie, and led us all in a prayer in which he asked God to make sure we all voted the right way on election day. I couldn't believe it. Part of the reason I don't go to church anymore.

Alright, WTF with the editorial 'we' ? I see you and Coker using it -- did you find your 20 year old copy of Strunk and White or something? I sounds poncy and outdated.

This is horribly sad, clearly the bible study guy has completely missed the teachings of Christ, in which case, yeah, I would say that EVERYONE should skip his bible study, cuz clearly the leader has utterly failed in sharing the message of love. But please do not judge all Christians based in the rants of one ignorant moron.

@909Jeff Preaching to the choir Jeff.  However, since this is an article on Chuck Smith and the Branch Calvarians, he gets the onslaught. They are all guilty, just as they were under W and his own lies/coverups.

Now then, the Petraus investigation is not a cover up by Obama...Period, unless one listens to Faux News. I can cite several credible sources if you like my friend.

Encana is set to develop 4,000 new gas wells on Colorado's west slope. The geology is well-known and they can ramp up production with little risk. That said, Fracking needs to be re-eavaluated before we look at other geological areas of Colorado and the conterminous United States.

Before continuing in a civil conversation, do you think that Roe v. Wade should be overturned?

@AlphaOmega Erm, no, Mormons do NOT believe you're going to hell for not believing in Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. You're just not going to inherit the Celestial Kingdom. In order to go to the Mormon version of hell (also known as "Outer Darkness") you have to believe in the Mormon doctrines, had a witness of the Holy Ghost and then fell away. Apparently very few people fall into that category.

@ageofknowledge It's clear you work for Chuck Smith or you're a puppet of Calvary.

Your other post's are laughable;

"The anti-religious in today's society are becoming facist in their thinking. That's the real problem... the mentality of people who write articles like these."

"You'll never hear OCWeekly or the leftist media complain when the left engages in the behavior they don't like the right to engage in. The hypocrisy is obvious. If they had a Sharpton, Wright, Farrakhan SUMMIT inside the AME, it would be cosigned by the left as "progressive" and "forward thinking."

How about an article pointing out that the number of abortions under Obama are actually less than under G.W. Bush.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Two wrongs don't mean a right, and George Bush certainly wasn't one of my favorite Presidents.  GWB with all his faults was however light years ahead of the Pied Piper of Chicago, who has a goal of the ultimate destruction of our country.  You can deny it until you are blue in the face, but Obama himself has said it.  Redistribution of wealth is right out of the Socialism/Communism Handbook by Karl Marx.  Bottom line is that religion is the least of our worries now.  You liberals didn't listen to the quote, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."  The bed is now made and you own it.

It's clear that you don't know what you are talking about. Not only do I NOT work for any religious organization, I also do NOT attend Calvary Chapel. The rest of your false assertions and rambling nonsense are laughable. You've never been right. Crawl back under that rock and pack another bowl pothead. You can stop pretending that you have what it takes to even stand in the sunshine on God's green earth with a real man like me. What a tragedy. You are dismissed.

 @AlphaOmega

Alpha, you are definitely not an old school Republican, because such a person would have never supported the Pied Piper of Chicago, under any circumstnaces.  By the way, that is a name I coined myself because of people like yourself following him around as did the the children of Hamlin Town in the original story.  Don't attend Calvary Chapel and never have.  As far as educating you, I sense that would be a hopeless task.  You and the other followers of  the Piper will have to wait and find out first hand what it feels like to go over the cliff.  Happy Trails.

@ltpar  @AlphaOmega   .."Jerk Off"...LOL, you have lost the debate Itpar.

It's clear that you base your decision off of the "Obama 2016" movie then. How sad for you and your uneducated "Gut instinct"; clearly your gag reflex doesn't work. Perhaps you agree with Robert and attend Calvary?

When one hears someone use the verbiage "Pied Piper of Chicago", one knows exactly whom they are dealing with...you've been exposed.

So then, myself being an old school Republican, not a TeaNatzi Republican, what exactly is Obama's, as you put it "plan for the final desruction of the country" and how is he a "traitor to this country"?

Secondly, had Romney won, what is your gut instinct on Citizens United?

Please educate us with your gag instinct please....

Look jerk off, I don't follow or support any of those loosers you mentioned.  I follow my gut instinct over that of political propaganda.  If you are a Republican, then it shows why the Party is in the mess it is.  I personally don't like the National or local Republican leadership, but am damn sure never supporting a traitor to this country like the Pied Piper of Chicago.  Let's just see how happy you remain as Obama starts to roll out his plan for the final desruction of the country.  Got to tear down the old, before he can build the new?  When the brown stuff hits the fan, there will be fighting in the streets, which side will you be on then?

@ltpar  @ageofknowledge ..."ultimate destruction of our country" Itpar, studies continually show that people who watch Fox news are less educated about politics and current events than those who watch no news at all.

Take your head out of the sand and your GOP lies as well.

AlphaOmega

@ltpar  @ageofknowledge You can cry all you want Itpar.  "Ultimate destruction of our country" ...ok Teabilly. You and your Koch Bros, Karl Rove loving principles can go pound sand...take your supreme leader Grover Norquist with you as well.

You would rather live in a world of "Citizens United" and the potential of Robert Bork being nominated to the supreme court?

Letting the Bush era tax cuts expire and keeping low taxes on the middle class right now is not redistribution of wealth.

The exact quote from W was, "Fool me once...uhhhhh...uhhhh...Cant be fooled again"...Strategery"

I am a Republican and the best bet for this country right now, was and has been Obama.

The GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln or Reagan.

AlphaOmega
AlphaOmega

@ageofknowledge ...ok "AoK"...let's start from scratch.

How is this article, as you put it, "Nonsense and hearsay"?

Why would you then go into a rant over Obama and job growth?

We get that you are part of the GOP (Gerrymandering ol Party) and understand how dire the reality of another four years of Obama must be for you.

Why is it that anyone who speaks up against these religious idiots is automatically "anti-religious" or "fascist in their thinking".  If you wan't to read articles that only support your slanted stance, why aren't you on a Fox network right now?  I understand they are digging themselves out of an avalanche from Bullshit mountain right now.

I will smoke some pot and take my meds whilst I wait on your educated response.

Well I have no idea who you are and honestly it's not important to me. This is a role I play on here. Nothing more. If you're offended to the point where you feel the need to make everything bad in real life over some anonymous chatter in a forum like this, then you've got some personality problems in real life that greatly transcend any that I have. If you've got a personality disorder to that degree, then my advice to you is to stop reading my posts and get some counseling. I've had to deal with some real bad people in my time in real life and I'm still standing. I sincerely hope that you're not going to drag me back down that road as it never turns out well for anyone. I speak from experience.
