ORIGINAL POST, OCT. 19, 2:46 P.M.: Bill Clinton is reportedly coming back to Orange County.

The 42nd president of these United States is said to be attending a post-(final, thank God)-debate rally somewhere on the UC Irvine campus.

The advanced word comes from The Liberal OC, which confesses to not yet knowing the exact time or other details, via the Democratic Party of Orange County.

The last time I can remember Slick Willie in OC was to stump for Loretta Sanchez in 2010. I could be wrong. This time he'll be carrying water for Barack Obama and, presumably, local Democrats seeking office.

UPDATE, OCT. 22, 12:32 P.M.: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) sent the Weekly more details on President Bill Clinton's visit to UCI Tuesday: he'll speak at 5 p.m. in Bren Center, West Peltason Drive and Mesa on campus.

Clinton will be rallying for rally for congressional candidates Julia Brownley of Ventura, Alan Lowenthal of Long Beach, Scott Peters of San Diego, Raul Ruiz of Palm Springs and Mark Takano of Riverside, according to DCCC.

Cypress, Los Alamitos, Midway City, Rossmoor, Stanton, Garden Grove and parts of Westminster are within the 47th district Lowenthal, a termed out state senator facing Republican Long Beach City Councilman Gary DeLong, hopes to represent after the Nov. 6 election. The 47th district before redistricting based on the 2010 census was held by Loretta Sanchez, who is now running for the 46th district. Living in Long Beach, within the new 2012 boundaries, is disgraced Rep. Laura Richardson, who is running for the 37th district seat.

The DCCC email mentions no other Orange County candidates, but it is routine that party members seeking various offices, from local to national, are recognized at partisan rallies like this
