A 12-year-old boy allegedly led Orange County sheriff's deputies on a car chase from San Juan Capistrano to Dana Point early today before crashing into a tree and fleeing on foot as the family Chevy Aveo burst into flames.

Dennis the Menace was found hiding in bushes, and the car burned to the ground, according to authorities.

This all went down around 1:15 a.m., when a deputy on patrol noticed the Chevy rolling on Del Obispo Street near Paseo Carolina in Dana Point without its lights on, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Despite the cruiser's lights and siren being flipped on, the Aveo continued moving through surface streets of Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano before the tree was hit near Dana Point Harbor, according to deputies.

After the boy was pulled out of the bushes, he was handed over to his parents.

The and the length of the looming grounding cannot be calculated
