Shann Mou Lee Faces Up to 3 Years and Nearly $70k in Penalties For Filing False Tax Returns
Shann Mou Lee, 69, of Buena Park, pleaded guilty to a one-count criminal information charging him with subscribing to a false income tax return.
Federal Judge James Selna could sentence Lee to three years in prison at a hearing scheduled for Jan. 13, 2013.
In April 2010, Lee and his wife filed a joint 2009 federal income tax return that failed to report income received from his Garden Grove company, Roger Industry. His total income was listed at $347,536, leaving off $124,949 earned from Roger Industry and stiffing the feds for $39,046 in taxes.
Lee also admitted he owes $67,573 for failing to report all his income for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 calendar years, according to an IRS statement that notes its Criminal Investigation unit investigated the case with the United States Attorney's Office in Santa Ana.
