Orange County Register Publishes Great Story on Illegal Immigration by Sea, Reg Readers Get Angry

I have my issues with Orange County Register immigration reporter Cindy Carcamo, but kudos to her for starting off a great series this week in the paper focusing on illegal immigration by sea, something that's been happening in our fair land for nearly a century but which is freaking out the gray hairs just now. It'll probably win (pardon the pun) a boatload of awards, but that doesn't matter to the Reg's troglodytic readership, who are foaming at the mouth at Carcamo and the Reg because they dare treat the issue objectively and aren't calling for all illegals-carrying boat to be sunk with torpedoes.
Don't believe me? Roll the Facebook screen grabs!

Then comes the cries that the Register is hopelessly clueless to the needs of its readership, which is a fair point considering they're lunatics:

And don't forget:

Throw in a dyslexic pendejo:

And a bunch of non-sequitors:

And voila! Reg readers LOVE Cindy Carcamo! And I don't even want to know the horrors that will be waiting at her voicemail this morning...

I had no idea this was still going on! I figured after the MSE immigration raid (www.mse.com) not many people talked about illegal immigration anymore. Thanks for opening up my eyes, and actually showing that some people are not all against it.

What a pathetic excuse for a nation Mexico is. The Soviet Union was a paradise by comparison.

@GustavoArellano When I read the readers comments section for some OC Register stories, I feel like I'm back in the 50's , the bad 50's,

My favorite comment was the person who said "The Register's new ownership is beginning to show its new philosophical direction already."

Yes, you are. And that just shows that immigrants are not a 'benefit to the economy' -- their costs are socialized onto all of us.

But actually the Register has always been squishy on illegal immigration -- their libertarian idiots after all.

For once I agree with Klavito, I don't see why Americans who want the US to maintain a bit of first world status should be angry at this article. The phenomenon the author reports in  an objective way is actually good news. First, it shows the BS about fences not working was just propaganda, they are in fact working. Second, it shows that our border control efforts are raising the cost (not only in money, but in time and risk) to immigrate illegally. That's a deterrent. Finally it shows a way ahead -- coastal defense. This should be quite easy as even the smallest boats are easily picked up by various sensors.

Now we need to get serious about internal enforcement -- mandatory e-verify and back to real raids which apprehend both illegal immigrants and the employers who enable them.

@Mitchell_Young A "deterrent"? They're still coming, pendejo, and they'll never stop as long as your beloved capitalism shines on! Of course, you'd prefer socialism, which just means you're one giant hypocrite—but we knew that already...
