No sooner had Rusty Kennedy, executive director of OC Human Relations, sent the following information that Mary Platt, Chapman University's communications director, forwarded the same on behalf of the Orange institution's partners in the Orange County and Los Angeles Sikh communities that present the third annual SikhLens Sikh Arts and Film Festival in November: a special candlelight service to remember innocent victims of Sunday morning's senseless violence during prayer services at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin begins at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The location: The Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, 7122 Orangethorpe Ave., Buena Park.

"We will offer our prayers for the families who have lost loved ones as well as for the healthy recovery of those injured--one of them being Lieutenant Brian Murphy, who heroically put himself in harm's way to help protect the community," explains Bicky Singh, who is among the SikhLens partners.

"The Sikh community is appreciative of the outpouring of support received from our friends and neighbors, the interfaith community, as well as government leaders," Singh continues. "We invite you to stand with us to represent one united community as we begin to heal from this national tragedy."
