A Gay Republican Elected Official Finally Comes Out to OC!

carl_demaio-349.jpg
One of the great parlour games in Orange County politico circles is trying to figure out which local Republican bigwigs are closeted homosexuals, which ones have a beard, which ones are brave enough to make appearances at the LA/OC Jacks, and which ones were arrested in a Laguna Beach bar raid during the 1960s--or was it in Anaheim? Or was it a motel room?

But the fact is that despite OC being home to the Log Cabin Republicans, there have never been any out GOP officials outside of city councils and school boards--and even then, I don't think there are any right now. Or ever. But it's telling that conservative green carnation wearers are legion here, given that San Diego City Council member and mayoral candidate Carl DeMaio is coming (pun not intended) to Orange County next week to raise funds for his campaign.

Too bad that DeMaio ain't an OC guy, because he'd be the perfect GOP gay guy: a self-hating blowhard. He's infamously taken money from supporters of Proposition 8 even though he's in favor of gay marriage, which has enraged many in San Diego's large LGBT community and endeared him to Republicans, who always love tokens who say the nasty things they can't say (see: Gaddi Vasquez, Van Tran). DeMaio's big thing right now is blasting public-employee unions, which makes him doubly similar GOP honcho Scott Baugh...and we'll leave it at that!

Sorry, but I left my decoder ring at home on the kitchen counter.

One could refer to the parlous state of opinion at the OC Weekly. Are there no Demoncat bigwig closet homosexuals? Are you not tired and weary of trying to defend the indefensible and explain the inexplicable? Haven’t you poltroons stomped your feet, pounded your fists and snorted enough actionable drivel? I surmise if you spend a couple of years inside the oft-reviled and sinister media cabal, you'll eventually earn the privilege and see up close and personal how the sausage is made. You'll become acquaintances with those who wield the knives and wear the aprons, and you'll certainly vouch (every issue) for your good intentions. But after that obvious amateurish example of the Anaheim Police Department's "top secret" edict, it made you look completely like idiots and out of touch, giving credibility to and defining what is referred to as the "Demoncat-media complex." You certainly deserve what people are saying about you. You've earned it. You've worked hard to merit the suspicion, acrimony, mistrust and revulsion that pap-reading public increasingly heaps upon you.

You have eroded any confidence, dispelled any trust, and are driving your decreasing audience to the Internet and the blogosphere, where biases are affirmed and like-minded people can discuss with one another what they hold to be the truth, since most adults don't believe in objective reality. You've done a fantastic job of diminishing what was once a somewhat decent profession and have undermined one of the more vital plinths of democracy, a free and impartial press.

Many of us deplore your so-called evenhanded, so-called objective journalism. You know, you know, you can't write something that isn't true if it's in the interest of even-handedness. Granted, fatally-flawed liberals still dominate editorials of most of the country's newspapers, the three alphabet networks, and Hollywood. But your hold is no longer what it used to be. In the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, many rags were "owned" by political parties. People such as you are increasingly exposing the media's obliviousness to its bias, and illuminating that you see your broadmindedness as objectivity.

Bias to you comes from those who wander away from the plantation and show themselves to be conservatives. They exclude themselves from self-criticism, and use the First Amendment as a shield. They have no idea how to deal with antagonism or answerability. Clinton once complained that it was unfair that there was no "truth detector" to compete with Rush Limbaugh. Liberals have tried to blame conservative successes through their pulp pedaling to "angry white males" who they would have you believe are responsible for racist militias, terrorist bombings and are nativists who want to stop "human beings" from crossing our southern border by the millions.

Many of you on the Left who reproach conservatives are con-artists, who like faux journalists too often think of yourselves as being above reproach. Some have insignificant talent, which gives the impression that somehow this equates with moral pre-eminence. OC Weekly is littered with inaccuracies and outright falsehoods based more on shoddy work ethic and minimal "research" than any political axe grinding.

Media credibility can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. In just the last 10 years, conservative media has become the place where real news emanates. You've become like the over exaggerated Tele-evangelist who practices a form of mind control over his adherents. With that said, what has become more and more apparent is that many great journalists are conservative. The best-known writers and media personalities today in papers, magazines, the Internet and on TV are conservative. They have earned this through talent, hard work and honesty. Conservative media has had to be honest because their mistakes get magnified, while for years liberal news organs just slid it in (pun intended). You in the liberal news outlets repeatedly give false information regarding illegal immigration that you know are lies, but promulgated the concept of America (and by insinuation conservatives) as a heartless, uncaring place full of bigots (and that only liberal news pandering felt the migrants' pain).

Next time around, try using words like "scheme" and "elixir" to dismiss conservatives, and invite only staff members who agree with it to comment. Dismissing the issue of whether this "bias" is good or bad, it simply reflects a vast chasm between the public and the individuals who feed them so-called news. No wonder there is so much hunger for different content. The old days are gone. The public has gone through Watergate, cable TV, tabloids, and the Internet. They are a sophisticated, media-savvy bunch who thirsts for real, true news. They do not trust as they used to, and will not be re-assured by OC Weekly's "fireside chats."

When the Bolsheviks murdered the Romanovs and abandoned the Allies in World War I, the Webb's of the New York Times and the infamous Times' Russia correspondent Walter Duranty offered rosy assessments of Lenin and Stalin. The Communists were blackmailing Duranty because they knew he was a homosexual. The Khmer Rouge were led by an intellectual who had studied Sartre in Paris, named Pol Pot. When his "Red Cambodians" took over, they decided to save bullets, so they chose to murder through clubbing, asphyxiation and doused their targets heads in gasoline, setting them on fire. But they were "keeping hope alive" by demonstrating their "superiority."

The main, albeit untold, objective of lettuce liberalism is to stop social evolution in its tracks by helping the least able-bodied (which term includes such categories as: the least intelligent, the least talented, the least rational, the least productive, the least responsible, the least civil, etc.) to survive and multiply while preventing the most able-bodied (an antonym of least fit) from succeeding, and discouraging them, however implicitly, by means of liberal university-think prick-mandated socio-demographic policies, from having children that tend to inherit their parents’ fitness…

I forgot to ask Genevieve Huizar if her son Manuel Angel Diaz was gay. He spent time in prison I think he enjoyed it there. Maybe he was itching to get back. James Robert Reade

Klavito is no doubt heading to Rite-Aid this very moment, to purchase a big tube of KY.

Remember, a barrier method by far the most effective way of preventing STDs, and 'bottoming' in a man-man tryst the best way to get them. Make him wrap the weasel.

Hey, no blaming Carl on us down in San Diego, pretty sure he was raised in Orange County.

@JamesRobertReade You are quickly turning into the most pathetic piece of shit Orange County has ever seen—and that's saying A LOT.
