Anaheim Police Target Two-Wheelers

You know Anaheim Police have a thing for parolees.

This month, cops there are also keeping an eye out especially for unlawful motorcyclists.

So, if you are a parolee on a bike . . .

"The Anaheim Police Department will be conducting a specialized Motorcycle Safety Enforcement Operation this month in an effort to continue lowering deaths and injuries," reads a statement from the cop shop. "Extra officers will be on duty patrolling areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur."

Officers will zero in on riders who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and/or doing the kind of stupid stuff in traffic that leads to crashes, injuries and fatalities.

And don't worry, foes of four-wheelers: car and truck drivers who are impaired, driving erratically and coming into the view of cops on these special patrols will be busted, too, according to Anaheim PD.

Funding for the special op comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

One person has died and 29 others have been injured in motorcycle-related collisions over the past year, Anaheim Police state.

Help is available for riders, according to Anaheim cops, who point those interested in training to the California Motorcyclist Safety Program at www.CA-msp.org or 877.743.3411.

@ageofknowledge Well, I ride from Anaheim to Huntington/Newport regularly, but I'm specifically named in the county code, with a law preventing me from taking off my shirt in public.

It's not the bikers but the insane drivers that cause most the accidents, There is the the squids, guys riding in shorts and tees that are just stupid and reckless, They need to go after the drunkards peddling around in traffic, and texting drivers causing the accidents.

can I sue for misappropriation of funds?  This is bullshit.  in 2010, according the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, they where about 3600 motorcycle deaths...in the whole US.  So, why APH feels the need to "patrol" bikers is fucking stupid
