*Roscoe Cambridge, shot at an Anaheim police department parking lot.
*Bernie Cervantes, killed after walking around with a BB gun

UPDATE, 3:49 P.M.:
Here's video of about 50 protestors storming the Anaheim police station. A dispatch is forthcoming...

Protesters confronting Anaheim Police over officer-involved shootings and police abuse

UPDATE, 9 P.M.: A group of about 60 protesters stormed the Anaheim Police Department lobby a day after cops fired rubber bullets at citizens who'd gathered to protest Saturday's fatal police shooting of a 24-year-old man.

The crowd formed and wanted answers why police killed Manuel Diaz. Two officers are reportedly on leave since the shooting.

Although media reports have quoted the police saying they were responding to bottle throwing, sources have told OC Weekly the riot police came out of nowhere and started to shoot indiscriminately at residents standing outside of their homes.

this is how it has always been done, from hitler to the early union organizers here in the usa and gw bush trying to find ways to make it look like saddam attacked usa way before 9/11 happened. its the only way to get unintelligent bozos to demonize a minority for political power, gain, greed, free market, etc.

I first heard of this disgusting police behavior on Democracy Now, there has to be accountability, this behavior has gone on for too long, I would like to know more of LEAN the org. being started by the mother who lost her son by police.

 @Enlightened I don't see your comment here, but got it in an email a short while ago.  You mentioned "@jurnei This is when you demand to file a report against the officers in charge of the stop. They, by law, HAVE to request a field Sargent to the location of the violation. Don't expect to be helped or complain AFTER the fact." Not that your comment even warrants a response, but...I did ask for a supervisor and yet many more police cars came and the treatment didn't change, and as I mentioned, one of them put a gun in my young son's face for absolutely no reason. I certainly wasn't about to argue that they didn't send a supervisor, and even if one was there among the many cars that did arrive, they didn't identify themselves.  After the gun in my frightened never seen this type of police behavior behavior, my interest was getting away from them as soon as possible.  The incident went on till past 1 am and I had quite a drive home to Thousand Oaks late at night and very shaken.  I didn't expect anyone to believe I was complaining, as you say.  I just made sure that no one from this family ever went to Anaheim again.  Disneyland, Knotts, and other entertainment parks there would never get our money or our out of state visitors' money again. However, I was offering my experience for the Anaheim City Council as I am "out of town" and this was my experience quite some time ago.  It looks like Anaheim has a serious, long  rooted problem that they have never addressed.

Will the DA be seeking photos of those that looted the 20 businesses including Starbucks and CVS last night? Will the OC Weekly report on the looting and how protesters used their children as human shields?

As a long time Anaheim resident I have seen my neighborhood deteriorate from once clean well kept homes to dirty graffiti covered walls and an exploding gang problem. This used to be a quiet safe area, now turned into a war zone where low lifes out number caring families. Let's take back Anaheim from the criminal gang bangers. I back the badge!

The gangs have plagued the OC for years and now they are getting a taste of their own medicine.  My sympathy meter is indicating ZERO.  I have absolutely no problem with gang members getting what they have coming to them.  Karma is a bitch.  It takes balls to be a Gang officer doing a PC down a dark alley in a scummy gang infested "Hood".  Be careful what you guys wish for, Are the gangs going to respond to your call when your child is missing?  When you get robbed?  You guys need to stop worshiping scum and join the world of reality.

 @sgtortiz641 reality is you haven done anything but complain..you are no better than the shitty gangs or the idiot cops..join me when i go to the police station to see if they can use real bullets instead of the rubber ones..the rubber bullets hurt, but they didn't kill anyone..blame blacks and asians for the mess

Haha dude are you serious? You live in Orange County, most of America would love to be out there and dont worry, you are not a "gang" area. try going to chicago before you say shit like that. The OC is one of USA's best areas, and I dont think you have a legit gang problem out there, just a racist problem. BTW I am from Kansas, and we know racism, trust me you OC people are way more racist than KS folk

 @sgtortiz641 You're comments are ridiculous, You probably live no where near the problems of poverty and crime plague Anaheim and you have most likely never been the victim of gang violence; those were the residents Anaheim PD was shooting at. Get your facts straight and get your "scummy" bias out of your obviously ignorant comments.

I can not believe anyone could condone these killings. The young men were only 21 and 25 years old. I don't care what they were involved with they didn't deserve to die this way. If anyone believes these killings were justified then WHY are you using your TAX dollars that pay for rehabilitation programs. These young men had a chance to be changed but instead were murdered.

 The "We," you refer to are those who have no understanding of "Karma" or how it fits into your life.  Karma in it's most basic concept means lessons that must be learned by the human soul as part of the growth process.  It includes the full spectrum, the good, the bad and the ugly.  For soul growth, we must experience them all.  If you want to get caught up in fundamentalist religon philosophy you can compare it to the saying, "what you sow, so shall ye reap."  For myself, I fully understand there are no coincidences, accidents or mistakes in my life.  Although I have a "free will" choice, it is all part of the larger plan.  Such acceptance has made the trials and tribulations of the earthly realm more understandable and easier to work with.  The young men who were killed were each on a path just like you and I and had the choices to make and lessons to learn.  They have completed their time here and only they know what was accomplished or not accomplished in this lifetime.

 @notAnIgnorantCitizen  @lindatoo2010  I don't believe God uses the word KARMA, and he loved them as much as he does us. I would like to think these gang members could have a chance in life but that means turning their lives around and with Gods help that will be done.

 Surely you can't honestly be that naive!  I hope you feel the same way after you have been a victim of one of those "Young men" beat you, Rob you or worse!  Who you gonna call?  The Police.  The world is an ugly place and will eat you alive.  Don't let emotion overide your ability to think with logic.

 @sgtortiz641

 First of all, hi sgtort. I am far from being naive and yes I have been a survivor (I refuse to say victim) of these "Young Men". I was also put in a position to call "The Police" or handle the situation myself, I chose the latter. Yes the world is ugly and so are most police officers. Have you had the opportunity  to sit in a courtroom and watch an officer put his hand on the bible and swear to tell the truth. Well don't you be naive. I personally watched them lie, fabricate evidence, submit false reports and make deals with snitches who were felons on probation and fugitives from the state of Ca. I watched as all charges were dropped on him, just so he would testify to what they coached him into saying. I understand your position in this issue,  but I still think they could have been rehabilitated if  someone cared enough to try to help them.

 I do not know him personally.  Most of my interaction with the L.A. Coroners was with Coroner techs and such. I would return cases back to Orange county after autopsy etc.  I worked with many hospice nurses through many "Residence removals" and have much respect for them.

lindatoo2010

 @sgtortiz641 By any chance do you know Dr. Peter Yatar? He was the coroner of L.A. for many years, and was my boss over ten years.

 @lindatoo2010

 I thank you sincerely for your work in Oncology and the E.R.  I was a Coroner trans tech (O.C.) Crematorium operater, Mortuary services manager and a crime scene tech.  Trust me, I have seen the worst.  Not to mention ten years in the military.  I too worked with law enforcement and Death investigators in Orange County and at the LA Count Coroners office. You can't deny that society as a whole is in a state of decline Morally, civilly etc.  Well, It's only going to get worse.  You make very valid points and I understand them.  But until people and families begin to "POLICE" their own, Meaning raise their children to be achievers and shun and bannish the gangs, Nothing will change.  Death and prison will be the future.  I and many others thank you again for your chosen profession.

lindatoo2010
lindatoo2010

Sorry sgtortiz for my anger being so noticeable, and you are right.

Because I was an Oncology nurse for almost 30 years and like most people I believed in the system. I always thought it was the bad guy that was guilty. I never imagine cops would be the way they are today. There's not much I haven't seen working in ER, where might I add, very close with our law enforcement. I seen many things I didn't agree with them on but tolerated because after all he/she was of high authority. I have personally witnessed beaten inmates and persons taken into custody. Some of these beatings were unprovoked. I don't know where your from but people here in Ca. bury their heads in the sand and hope all this will go away, well it won't.  Until something like this (shooting of young men) happens to one of their own will they stand up for what is right. Thanks to the government most of our Constitutional Rights have been thrown in the garbage and it all starts with that first stop by  their puppets the cops. We have  Sworn officers then we have our non-sworn ones who are no different than us. Ca. has become a police state and the people are to cowardly to stand up to them. I realize our drug programs have NOT worked but there is a solution other than killing these men/women.. With all the technology we have wouldn't you think they could come up with something besides murder? This is my view on these two killings and I'm praying that any and all officers involved are prosecuted to the fullest and start by firing them! Thanks for your view I am always open for suggestions lol.

 Your anger and frustration truly came through in your words.  I appreciate that.  We are on opposite sides of the issue and I totally agree that corruption and filthy practices occur in our system as common practice, That is not going to change.  Trust me, all this makes me sick too.  I am a ten year military veteran and at times I am sickened by all the nepotism, favoritism and selective enforcement.  Your view on Rehabilitation is noble, but unfortunately is not realistic.  Stats prove this.  I  carry a handgun concealed, (Legal)  and wish more people could.

"About 200 protesters are on the scene. Witnesses have told the source the man was handcuffed then shot by police. No one is being allowed to take photos, according to the source. When a group tried to take photos from an upstairs apartment, police shined a bright light onto the residents to block the view. "

@Barry The reason why the crowd started to get irritated against the cops is because they started harassing a man with his baby in his hand. The cops never gave the order to the spectators to disperse, as you can see in the video they were within compliance. The cops lost their cool and over reacted to the situation and injuring innocent people.
