Jeremy Popoff FINALLY Admits Slidebar's Role in Call to Police That Led to Kelly Thomas Killing
After the Weekly's Brandon Ferguson cited multiple sources stating a Slidebar employee made the call, Popoff denied this in a lengthy voicemail to our offices in January. And he continued to deny this even after our R. Scott Moxley broke the story that confirmed Brandon's Slidebar assertion back in February.
Popoff and his lawyer denied the claims of an anti-homeless policy during a press conference, with Popoff saying, "We've done a lot for the homeless community around here, we've gotten to know a lot of them, we care very much about...we knew Kelly for years."
So why would an employee call the police on someone the establishment cares about and has known for years? Popoff, you still got some 'splainin to do.
