Shalabh Rastogi Indicted for Strangulation-Murder of Wife Jalina George

The Orange County Grand Jury today indicted Shalabh Rastogi for last month's strangulation-murder of the 39-year-old Irvine resident's wife, Jalina George.

The father of three, who is being held without bail pending arraignment Friday on the indictment, is charged with one felony count of murder and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison if convicted.

A grand jury indictment means the case can move more quickly to trial because it removes the need for a preliminary hearing.

Rastogi was having marital trouble his 40-year-old wife eluded to in tweets and other social-network messages before he called Irvine Police the night of May 21. He allegedly told cops he killed his wife, and responding officers found George's body in the bedroom closet of their apartment.

Rastogi was arrested without incident and out of sight of the three children he had with George, as they were not home at the time. They were later taken into protective custody.

Extremely Sad to hear this.. may god give courage to kids and family, RIP Jalina.

I'm a family friend, Guys disaster like this is a consequence of series of incidents, wish someone had counselled them before this,

And here we all seems to be passing a verdict against Tony! Any one tried to understand what lead a happy family to this? how come a guy so sombre and soft could do this to his own wife he had a love marriage, and his three darling kids??? I've heard good words from Tony's parents about Jalina & kids, than how come? may be in our busy professional life today we're missing out on our precious family relations...

Pls dont be so judgemental guys...Tony is still one of us, I'm not trying to shield him but it's only humans who make mistake.

are u serious? maybe if something like this happens to your sister you would be a lot more judgemental. who cares what led to it? a woman lost her life because of this "TONY" he could not have a single good reason for doing this, he could have walked away from his marriage if he had problems. look at his face, a face of a murderer! i bet his family and friends are doing all they can to help him. dont be alarmed if he comes after one of you in a moment of 'anger' and kills you or a family member. i hate uneducated freaks like you who make dumb decisions. let him be in prison or a hospital but at least his kids will stay safe

Very heart breaking news, we are deeply saddened by this news, just happened to know about it yesterday, OMG how could this ever happen to such a nice family, our heart goes out to those cute little talented kids, gave me a sleepless night.

May God give them the strength to go on with life and pursue their dreams, hope and pray that the kids are taken good care of, wherever they are now.

We always look into the kids dance & other shows on You Tube and they are so amazing.

So this man will probably plead insanity and get away or this man can say that it was in the moment of rage and get out of jail in less than 6 years. WOW A woman, a mother, a friend passed away and her life is valued at so little? I hope CA takes this case seriously and punishes this man to the fullest extent. He has ruined his children's life and does not seem to regret anything. I hope the woman and her children get justice!

John, He's a Hindu by religion, not a terrorist ! There is no place for terrorism in Hinduism and it preaches utmost respect to women, and does not give any 'VIRGIN" for killing any one.
