ATF Busted Yorba Linda Meth Dealer Gets Punished in Federal Court

Not far from the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda in June 2010, federal agents used a confidential informant to trick an Orange County drug dealer into supplying them 111 grams of 99 percent pure methamphetamine for $4,000.

This week, Robin Lynn Freiwald learned her punishment following her arrest by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agents.

U.S. District Court Judge James V. Selna could have sentenced Freiwald to 188 months in federal prison but instead gave her the low end of sentencing guidelines: 151 months.

She signed a plea agreement last August and, given that she filed pre-sentencing documents under seal, doesn't want the public to know certain information about her.

Freiwald: Duped by ATF agents

Freiwald, who was born in 1967, is a convicted drug user and burglar. State judges didn't treat her prior convictions seriously though. She usually received probation. In one case, however, she got 120 days in the Orange County Jail.

Assistant United States Attorney Dennise D. Willett prosecuted the case for the government.
