[UPDATED with Checkpoints Tonight in Sous-a Ana, Wet-minster and Beer Garden Grove:] Extra DUI Patrols in Drank Forest, Mixin' Viejo and Rancho Santa Margaritaville
The Westminster and Garden Grove police departments did not announce the locations of their operations, but Santa Ana's is known.
It's at 2100 N. Main St. from 7:30 tonight through 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Westminster's, which is being run in coordination with the California Highway Patrol, runs from 8 tonight through 2 a.m. Saturday, while Garden Grove's is from 9 p.m. through 2 a.m.
The goal of all three will be to take drivers who are inebriated or without valid licenses off the road, and like the sheriff's special patrols, the operations are funded by California Office of Traffic Safety grants, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
