TBN's Paul and Matt Crouch: God Kills Those Who Come Against Them

I'ma kill you
You gentle readers know what Godwin's Law is: the longer an online debate ensues, the likelier that someone will make a Hitler analogy to bolster an argument.

May I coin the phrase "Crouch's Law"? The harder someone fights against the Trinity Broadcasting Network and its abhorrent teachings, sheep fleecing and bad haircuts, the likelier that its founding family will call down God's wrath on the offending soul.

Video after the jump . . .

On TBN's "Behind the Scenes" program, recorded in early February, Paul Crouch and his son Matt warned the world that anyone who takes the "minsitry" to task pretty much has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

"You know what's funny dad?" Matt said. "There have been a few attempts in the TBN history to upset TBN, to stop TBN. There have been a few fools in the 38, 39 year history, coming up on 40 years. And you know what? Any attempt at stopping TBN, they have no idea who they're actually pushing into the corner. You and mom get pushed in a corner, God help you. That's a lesson I've learned from you. Seriously."

Oh brother. Paul, in a scrappin' mood, followed that WWE-esque promo with this gem:

"God help anyone who would try to get in the way of TBN, which was God's plan," Paul said. "I have attended the funeral of at least two people who tried."

Of course, they aren't the only preachers who believe God will smite dissenters. Chuck Smith once threatened a Calvary Chapel abuse survivor. From the pulpit.

But what's got the Crouches in kill-mode? A web of lawsuits involving Crouch granddaughter Brittany Koper, a former executive for Trinity, who has accused the company of illegally funnelling more than $50 million in charitable assets to its board of directors.

Koper alleges that she and her husband were fired in September after she reported the alleged financial misdeeds. Matt, a director at Trinity, started tapping a gun he had brought to a meeting, and asked Koper what she thought would happen when she wrote a memo to Trinity executives critical of the alleged financial misconduct, according to the lawsuit:

"Matthew Crouch continued tapping the gun he was holding to ensure that Ms. Koper recognized the lethal threat being made."

Matt Crouch, God's henchman?

This is the most despicable act of hubris by so calledChristians that I have seen in my 62 years, 50 which have been a follower ofChrist. Debating evolution, cosmology, the cults etc. is one thing but when thechurch sins and people do not call them out, even associate themselves withthem is destructive as the entire body of Christ is then seen through the samelens by the world…The Crouches are toxic to the truth and anyone to everyonewho has anything to do with them;

Moses to the congregation:  “and he speaketh unto the company, saying,`Turn aside, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and come notagainst anything that they have, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.' (Num.16:26)

To think that good ministries continue to put up with these despicablepeople is outrages. We need to start calling out EVERYONE from now on thatappears on their network and disassociate ourselves with them, even it is theGrahams, Calvary Chapel, Hal Lindsey or Michael W. Smith, it does not matter.

Paul publically rebuking Peter (Funny that Paul was notkilled for confronting Peter) "And when Peter came to Antioch, to the faceI (Paul) stood up against him, because he was blameworthy," Gal. 2:11.

‘and the profane vain talking’sstand aloof from, for to more impiety they will advance, and their word as agangrene will have pasture, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus, who concerningthe truth did swerve, saying the rising again to have already been, and dooverthrow the faith of some; (II Tim 2:16-18)."

Their word will eat as doth a canker - Ὡς γαγγραινα· As a gangrene;i.e. as a mortification in the flesh, where the circulation is entirelystopped, and putrefaction takes place, which continues to corrupt all thecircumjacent flesh, spreading more and more till death takes place, unlessstopped by a timely and judicious application of medicine. Such is theinfluence of false doctrine; it fixes its mortal seed in the soul, whichcontinues to corrupt and assimilate everything to itself, till, if notprevented by a timely application of the word of life, under the direction ofthe heavenly Physician, it terminates in the bitter pains of an eternal death. To such gangrene the apostle compares the corrupt doctrines of Hymenaeus andPhiletus… Adam Clarke

Alexander thecoppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: 2Timothy 4:14.

Wow. Stephen, that was insightful and deep. Have some positive rep. *Liked*. I remember them blacklisting numerous mainstream Christian apologists that spoke out against their practices and theologies. The apologists certainly never died and are still busy doing apologetics... just no on TBN (because the Crouchs blacklisted them from appearing on TBN rather than clean up their own house).

No, more like thieving, lying, GREED.

Using God as their  "enforcer" will earn all of the Crouch's a special place in hell.
