Pastor Wiley Drake Arrested in D.C. While Praying, Ignoring Christ's Command Not to Do So in Public

God, please save Chen, kill Barack

Pastor Wiley Drake of the First Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park, who prays for President Barack Obama and members of Congress to die, was arrested outside the White House on Friday while praying for Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng, who had reportedly just left the U.S. Embassy and had been taken to a hospital.

Drake reportedly had been kneeling with other believers next to a fence when security officers repeatedly told them to move.

The Orange County Register reports that Drake, who had been in town for the National Day of Prayer, said he would do it again, and compared his, uh, suffering, to that of what Guangcheng suffered in jail.

He then drowned his suffering in lobster bisque at Kinkead's. Kidding.

Lesson learned: read the damn Sermon the Mount, preacher.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Looks like Drake got his reward.

I am always very depressed when I read things like this. I am a Christian and it upsets me to hear people trash the president. If this man knew scripture at all...and it's amazing how many who call themselves pastors do not behave as though they do.....he would know the bible tells us to pray FOR our leaders. And that means, in a positive way, not praying for his demise.

As much as I hate to admit it, I gotta throw my support to ol' Pastor Wiley on this one. If they can club him like a baby seal for praying to Jesus, then they can do the same to me for worshiping the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Time to rise up to government that's taking all our freedoms away via TSA, NSA, FBI, Patriot Act, and on and on... Seriously, WTF -- He was praying. It wasn't like he was taking pictures which is now illegal in the USA.

I have to agree with you on this one. Government has way too much power. Do you think if the occupy crowd camped there and defecated all over the place, they would have been arrested? Of course not, they are the Presidents voter base.

Funny how you defend Drake and say to rise up to the government for taking away our freedoms and mentions some of the same institutions and what not (Patriot Act) as do the Occupiers but you always give us so much flack.
