Save the sexting until after you've parked your Prius.

Thanks to Congress, it's National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The California Highway Patrol and law enforcement agencies up and down the state will be on the lookout for lawbreakers, conducting zero-tolerance enforcements.

"We take the issue of distracted driving very seriously." said Irvine Police Chief David Maggard, in a news release. "Our officers will be taking this 'zero tolerance' approach with the goal of eliminating this dangerous and potentially tragic behavior from our roadways."

Drivers caught using their hands to "lol" their friends on their sweat shop-manufactured phones will be cited. The minimum ticket is $159, with subsequent tickets costing at least $279.

What about rubbing one out while stuck on the 91?

Which reminds me I need to clean the old socks out of the back of my car...
