A lot of films--more than 400, in fact--will be screened at the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival. And a lot of volunteers will be needed to present those films April 26-May 3 at various Newps and Costa Mesa locations.

Which is where you may come in.

Festival co-founder and CEO Gregg Schwenk says 60,000 volunteer hours went into last year's run. The programming has been expanded for this year's 13th annual festival, so Schwenk and his crew are seeking more "enthusiastic film lovers to volunteer for Orange County's annual celebration of cinema."

Positions include guest relations, merchandise sales, theater ushering and office reception. Specific shifts are filled at orientation meetings, at least one of which those who sign on must attend. If you're under age 18, you have to have a parental consent form filled out to volunteer, and those under 16 will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their shifts.

The first orientation session is tonight. Here is the full schedule:

Tonight, 7-8:30 p.m.
Oasis Senior Center (Event Room)
801 Narcissus Ave.,
Corona Del Mar, CA 92625
