Garden Grove Cops Cover Streets Like Rain Friday the 13th to Nab Drunken Drivers
Through a grant administered by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the department is pouring extra manpower onto areas known for drunken driving arrests, collisions and fatalities.
"Law enforcement officers are doing more to remove drunk drivers from California's streets and highways thanks to our DUI traffic safety funding," Christopher J. Murphy, director of the California Office of Traffic Safety, says in the same release.
The goal is zero deaths related to boozing, drugging and driving. Those who have not imbibed are asked to help officers by dialing 9-1-1 if they see a drunken motorist.
