Leak at San Onofre May Bring Summer Blackouts
Reactors at the nuclear plant have been out of service since Jan. 31 after a ruptured tube leaked radioactive steam into the air. According to the Wall Street Journal, a heat wave may force officials to instigate rolling blackouts to prevent uncontrolled power outages. These blackouts typically last 15 to 30 minutes at a time, not long enough to hugely impact your plans but long enough to be super annoying when you're trying to find out who won American Idol.
