OC Police: St. Patrick's Day DUI Checkpoints a Success
| Time to call a taxi |
From 6 p.m. March 16 to 6 p.m. yesterday, cops from 38 area law enforcement agencies reported making 64 DUI arrests, according to a press release from the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The next big, countywide anti-DUI checkpoint campaign will be conducted during Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day weekend in May.
Funding for the overtime pay for involved local cops is provided by federal taxpayers because federal politicians (who obviously don't accept the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution) believe the federal government needs to play a role in neighborhood DUI checkpoints.
