Crystal Cathedral Cutting Kin

​The Crystal Cathedral is becoming less of a family affair. 

Officials at the Garden Grove-based ministry confirmed this week that three people related to founder Robert H. Schuller were given the boot from leadership.

Gretchen Penner, one of Schuller's daughters, was fired from her producer gig at the "Hour of Power'' TV show, according to the Orange County Register. Her husband, Jim Penner, received the axe from his role as executive producer of the "Hour of Power.'' Jim Coleman, the husband of Senior Pastor Sheila Schuller Coleman, was fired from his post as director of creative services. 

A spokesman said Robert H. Schuller and his wife Arvella abstained from the vote on the firings by the ministry board. 

As donations to the ministry are plummeting, "Hour of Power" will go into reruns over the next few weeks. But that's okay, because, as the Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
