Barbie v. Bratz, Part XVI: Mattel Wants Off the Hook for MGA's $310 Million Payday

While the never-ending case will drag on--it's been clogging up the courts for nine years--at least Mattel says it is abandoning its claim that Bratz dolls infringe on the El Segundo-based company's copyright. Oh, Mattel still believes it does, it just won't pursue that claim in court.
However, the toy maker does want Judge David O. Carter's $310 million award to MGA overturned.
Speaking of keeping this sucker going until Ken loses all his plastic hair: MGA has said it will appeal Carter's rejection of the $1 billion payday.
