UPDATE: True Food Kitchen says the offending receipt is a Photoshop job. More info at the end of the story!

ORIGINAL POST FEB. 24, 2:30 P.M.
; Here in beautiful Orange County, we are one of the capitals of the One Percent, of the people who despise those who don't make six-figure salaries or drive those shitty gray Mercedes that you find everywhere from San Clemente to Brea. But there's being a One-Percenter, and then there's openly mocking those who serve you, which is what happened this month at True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach, where a guy left a buck-and-change tip on a $134 bill with the added advice to the waitress: "Get a Real Job."

The person's blog doesn't say much about their boss's identity other than the following confessional:

I work in the corporate office of a major bank for a boss who represents everything wrong with the financial industry: blatant disregard and outright contempt for everyone and everything he deems beneath him.

On top of that, he's a complete and utter tool.

TOTALLY sounds like Don Bren--but he ain't a banker. Who could it be???

In the meanwhile, gracias, anonymous banker, for making Orange County look even more toolish...

UPDATE: According to the Smoking Gun, True Food Kitchen located the original copy of the above receipt...and what you see above is a Photoshopped® version of the real one. Those of you who despise the 1% will just have to get your jones off on other horrible-tips-in-OC-by-the-rich stories like this one that happened last year.

Still begs the question, though: who paid for the True Food meal? Who doctored it, and for what reason? OC ain't exactly filled with merry pranksters, and the Occupy movement wouldn't travel to Newport Beach if you spotted them the bus fare down Jamboree. "FutureExBanker"--what say you?
