Santa Ana River Trail Safer for Cyclists With Bike Robbery Busts

• Just carry a pistol. Not like the cops are searching cyclists on the santa ana river trail. I don't but usually carry large knife when i mountain bike to give me a miniscule chance if a mountain lion tries something.

• Some good news on the cyclist robberies that occurred on the Santa Ana River Trail a few weeks ago.  Hopefully the police will continue to monitor the situation so this isn't repeated.

• Why? Those of us who know better would ignore the signs, and the bone-stick-stone stupidity of the pre-FB-era OC Register comments section wouldn't allow them to get close enough ever to see them.

• My bike was stolen when I was a kid and it really sucked because I delivered the Register after school on it.  Theives suck.

• My bike has 2 Hellfire missles, 30mm Bushmaster chain gun, Lojack, Hatchet launcher, Napalm sprayer and Sirius radio.  I only ride it at night.

• "That said, the riverbed borders several gang territories, so riders should use appropriate caution and when possible, ride in pairs during evening hours." I love their honesty.  SAPD should post a similar sign all around the entrances to SA: "Warning! Danger! Enter at own risk!"

• Gangbangers reach new levels of douchebaggery on an almost weekly basis in the OC it seems.

• It takes a real specimen of doucehbaggery to steal someone's ride. But modern thieves should consider themselves fortunate...in the old west stealing a horse was punishable by hanging!
