Ronald Reagan Returns to Full, Upright Position

Ronald Reagan is back at Bonita Canyon Sports Park in Newport Beach--and this time he wants blood.

Actually, it's a statue of the Gipper that has risen from the ashes--and to its full and upright position--after the city paid $6,500 to repair the bronze figure that was bent by would-be Dutchnappers last November.

That's not all the city has done to keep the statue intact. As Newport Beach Patch reports, surveillance cameras have been installed to prevent future crimes against the piece.

Meanwhile, there's still a $5,000 bounty for the head of the baddie who bent Reagan in the first place--and, no, that's not a reference to GE, Ed Meese or Nancy Reagan.

They were better off melting the statue. The only people reagan cared about were the rich.

what makes this news worthy?  is it possible it is because Reagan was a republican?

I got a better idea, let's dig up his decaying corpse and drag it around the park on his anniversary.  It would be a more accurate homage to his feckless venereal legacy.

Surveillance cameras, really?  For a statue at a park?
