[UPDATED with Mickey Mouse Reaction:] Glenn Horlacher Popped for Being Boozy Terror at Disney's Tower of Terror

UPDATE, FEB. 20, 2:44 P.M.: Disney Resort officials released a statement saying the booze-fueled incident next to the Tower of Terror Saturday was "uncharacteristic" for the California Adventure theme park in Anaheim.

The Mouseketeers are right about this: no characters in costumes were involved . . . only costumed cast members were.

Disney also praised the actions of guests who stepped in--and sat on--Glenn Horlacher to assist cast members before park security officers arrived.

ORIGINAL POST, FEB. 20, 10:48 A.M.: Most any adult who found him/herself routinely imprisoned at Disneyland applauded in 2001 when California Adventure opened with alcohol availability.

"Better to help you cope, my dear . . ."

However, in the same breath, we must acknowledged that booze and theme-parking don't always mix, as folks near Tower of Terror discovered Saturday.

The video below (courtesy of LiveLeak.com) begins with a sloppy drunk taking swings at Tower of Terror bellhops. Once security gets the belligerent fellow on the ground, he is seen getting maced. Not that it stopped the Hillbilly Ray Robinson from taking another swing at an employee before burly guests essentially sat on the attacker.

Yes, the lads capturing the spectacle via a cellphone camera are funny, especially when they are heard saying, "You didn't wind up being so tough anymore, huh?" to the fellow on the ground, "So, there isn't any security around?" to a bellhop, and "I think this guy's been drinking vodka!" to anyone within earshot. But my personal fave is the blonde in sunglasses repeating, "There are kids here, there are kids here, there are kids here. Does this guy not get that? You're at Disneyland."

Anaheim Police eventually managed to gain clearance from Mickey to enter the park around 3:30 p.m. so 53-year-old Glenn Horlacher could be popped on suspicion of battery and assault and hauled away to the police station for booking. He was later released on a citation.

An unnamed security guard was treated at and released from a local hospital for minor injuries, not the least of which must have been enduring the chap's boozy breath.

It kills me that police have to get 'clearance' to go onto private property to do their jobs when someone calls 911! How come everyone else has no say in the matter but Disneyland has this magical power? When's the last time anyone else in Anaheim was asked for 'clearance' from the PD before coming onto their property? Despite what the signs say Disneyland is not a foreign country, it's just a large business inside the city limits. But apparently it does hold the city and the PD under it's thumb when it can dictate when it will grant the law access to it's property and the city agrees to let them do it.

I think Glenn Horlacher should sue the pants off Micky (Disney). The employee who sprayed him more than once was showing off for the crowd. He did not handle the situation in a professional matter. And the goof balls in the back ground only egged him on .Like they never had one too many! Does Disney take any blame for serving alcohol? Thank God it was taped so Mr Horlacher has prove in court. But the monkeys that were taking the video showed no remorse toward the man that was allegedly intoxicated.Where were the people the handles crowd control? What a joke. That park is nothing but a money making theme park for low class visitors

good read. I would say when giving advice to self pleasure to the bible you should recommend passages from Songs of Solomon. Some of that is pretty graphic.

OK, abusing in front of kids is not right , agreed, but beating the crap out of an old man and pepper spraying him in front of the same kids is ok?

"beating the crap out of an old man ...."  Are you even watching the same video as the rest of us?

For what? Being annoying? If that was a mandatory "slap-worthy" offense a lot of us would be walking around with sore faces...

It is sad that the whole story could not be brought into the media limelight...instead we have a video that started after the true events took place.  Mr. Horlacher is a war veteran that suffers from PTSD.  He had asked a park attendant a question pertaining to the ride when a security guard approached him in a very demeaning manor and glared at him and told him to move on.  He refused because his question went unanswered.  From there the guard asked him; "do you want a piece of me" (2X) and Mr. Horlacher pushed him back when the guard came towards him.  The guard then struck the side of his head...causing the flurry that occurred in the video above.

And another member of the McTrash clan emerges from the trees ...

ah, what lies.  The "security GUARD", AKA, rent-a-cop, came up to the individual, who is a decorated veteran with PTSD, and yelled, "So, you want a piece of me? (twice)  Guess that's standard Disney protocol for defusing situations.  When Mr Horlacher pushed said security guard away from him, the rent-a-cop hit him on the left side of his head, and the fight was on.  Mr. Horlacher NEVER took a swing at ANY "staff member", he was talking to a supervisor when the belligerent guard snuck up on him and refused to answer Mr. Horlacher's inquiries, just staring at him malevolently. And who sold the 4 beers to the gentleman?  Disneyland did, of course.

Blame Disneyland for his poor behavior.  Mbe we should give his decoration to the person who did the real work since he isnt accountable for anything.

May we suggest you put down the Mason jar of moonshine long enough to reassess the video of your piggy friend/immediate family/relative acting just like the lowclass redneck he undoubtedly is? And, of course, let's blame Disneyland because they absolutely forced him to slurp those beers. (And you would know it was 4, how?) And PTSD? Here it's Pathetic Trashy Stupid Drunk ...

Is Horlacher your drunk uncle or something?

The guard had already been punched in the face when the video started. The blood they referred to was coming off HIS face. You can see someone handing him some Kleenex. He sprayed the guy to get him to stay on the ground.  The drunk obviously wasn't listening. The guy was much bigger than the security guard and the security guard was trying to keep others safe (his job).

I don't think the police had to wait too long to "get clearance".  They are usually already in the back area somewhere.

What's up with the security guard?  The guy is laying on the ground and he keeps spraying him with mace.  Later, the guy is standing there; wiping his eyes, and not moving or threatening anyone; so Rent-A-Cop orders him to get on the ground and when he doesn't "obey his authority," he squirts him again in the eyes.

This video is going to help Horlacher in court.

With all due respect I personally find pepper spray to be a nonviolent response.

It seemed obvious the perpetrator was unable to run away in that shape- the guard probably just wanted him on the ground where he'd cause less trouble.

Hilarious video. I'm sure Horlacher could not win anything in court from the video but trouble for himself.
