[UPDATED with Victim I.D.:] John Berry, OC Homicide No. 2: Itzcoatl Ocampo Held in Fatal Stabbings of Homeless

   This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your posts, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! Keep up the excellent work.

wow so many ignorant comments upon the fact that innocent people lost there life due to a coward.... there is no need for racist comments, you should dislike the individual not the race.... but on to another fact John lived his life like we all do but what made him different from a lot of us is that he cared about people even though he was not in the greatest of circumstances, so instead of animosity towards one another why don't we stand together with the hatred and end the negative output that our society portrays 

There is a walk to honor John Berry at the Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda this Saturday. Rain or shine i beleive. The nearest crossstreets are Fairmont Blvd & La Palma. A memory book signing starts at 9 a.m. The actual walk commences at 10 a.m. Some of his actual family members will be present I hear. There should be a pretty big turn out...this will be the 3rd big memorial for John...also donations are being accepted for a proper and respectable funeral/burial for our dear friend John. GOD we all miss him, but we know he is with YOU and looking down on us with much love. I hope John continues to pray for us all as he did here. Such a kind, gentle, beautiful soul..I am sure he is enjoying the most breathtaking sunsets and sunrises in his peaceful eternal home in heaven. Love you good friend! I will see you again, God speed...

John Berry was such a special presence in our community and became well loved and respected. He was kind, caring, full of so much help and advice and was well spoken, very intelligent. Loved nature and astronomy....and if you pressured him enough he would take $$ but many many times he would use that money to buy someone else something. One lady gave him $20 and he bought another a bible w/ that $$. That is what kind of awe-inspiring christ-like man he was. Others met him just ONE time, and felt an instant connection and always looked for him and just felt good and safe seeing him in the area. So much can be said about how awesome he was. Its such a huge loss to us....

Johns death is sad for me because I remember seeing him around for sometime.I had contact with him a few times and he seemed to be a very nice and respectable man.I am sure the Lord has a special place for him in heaven. 

John Berry was such a sweet man.  When I heard that the incident happened at Carl's Jr.'s, I immediately knew that John had gone to CVS beforehand.  I wish John had taken his friends up on their suggestion of staying with them for a month and he had not ventured out alone or at least until this was over with and they had captured Ocampo. 

Meanwhile, a white man has been put in a coma by a suspected gang-banging Mexican in San Clemente (that's way south of Culver for you Weaklites). You can luck it up.

San fucking Clemente. I hope it's worth the cheap lawn care.

This is a little off topic but I would like to point out that in OC the cops hand out tickets to homeless people for "illegal camping". It's a $200+ ticket. It's nice to see Law Enforcement actively involved with the capture but it was definitely the caring residents of OC and their quick actions that led to the capture. Until the "illegal camping" law is revoked the homeless will continue to be victims of police on a nightly basis. I'm not saying all cops are bad but their are plenty of bad apples that intentionally look for homeless people to hand out camping tickets to. And of course this serial killer event happens shortly after 6 police used excessive force and literally beat a homeless man (Kelly Thomas ) to death.

People tend to blame Mexicans because they tend to do the most crimes. 1. They enter the United States illegally which is a crime and 2. More than 70% of prisoners in California are Mexicans.

What the hell does race have to do with this he's a murdere and a sick human being every race has evil trash not just Mexicans

Jesus, must every crime have to confirm every commenter's ugly prejudices? 

These retuning Iraq and Afghan war veterans are turning out to be be dangerous. If you know one, keep your eyes on them, and be quick to call law enforcement for any reason you can find.

And you can thank everyone's favorite glutton Jerry Falwell and his buddies for inviting illegal Russians into the country.  Violent gangs and absolutely zero respect for anyone's lives bringing it over here.  

An illegal Mexian killing the weak and innocent. Obama shoud be kicked out of office , he's weakened the dollar , the military and crime is at an all time high from Illegal Mexicans. How long before another terrorist attack?

Itzcoatl Ocampo, was in the Marines he came bac from Iraq not to long ago. My sister knew him before he left and said that he was the sweetest guy very friendy.When she saw him again he was a nervous wreck and would shake. Hes just another person that was damaged by this the war. He was damaged by what he lived in the war. Dont judge him hes another victim

My guess is that Itzcoatl Ocampo is a legal American citizen and there's absolutely nothing that could have ever been done to prevent these tragedies. 

Really "when they were done in"?!?! Did you go to school for journalism or are you related to the owner of the paper? Or is it your total disrespect for them because they were homeless.. it it would have been "upstanding" citizens would your choice of words still have been "done in". These men were murdered.
