• This is typical of Orange County. I moved here a few years ago from the Midwest, and a lot of these folks are rabidly Republican. I even had a boss put hands on me, because I'm a Democrat! I just accept that a lot of Orange County Republicans are ignorant, stubborn, unreasonable, mean spirited, violent and crazy. All the above, proves my point. President Obama finally released his birth certificate, but not even that's not good enough for the birthers. And as far as an Orange County minister asking for prayer so President Obama dies, that is sick. I'm a Christian, was never a fan of George Bush, but I never wished the man any harm. Like I stated above: Orange County Republicans: sick, sick, sick.

I believe that the abstract released by the Obama campaign to several media sources was a true and accurate birth record and don't take any stock in the allegations that it was a forgery and/or FactCheck was in on some sort of coverup. However, I also don't doubt that his SSN would normally have been issued to someone who used a Connecticut mailing address.  I forgot to add the common explanation that his grandparents' Honolulu address had a 96814 zip code, while a 0 (via bad handwriting or a keystroke error) would make it 06814, which corresponds to Danbury, CT. • The Obama campaign spent nothing on legal fees related to this. Your $3 million figure is a total fabrication. The Obama campaign's total legal fees for the entire campaign were only about $2 million. This nonsense required no response as it was proven false with the release of his borth certificate in June 2008. Motions to dismiss, most filed pro-bono (for free) took care of them with ease. And Obama is not using a Connecticut man's SSN. That's just another lie.

• The whole thing about the possibility of nationality based on some other country's laws is ridiculous. Rudy Giuliani is the grandchild of Italian immigrants.  Italy's generous laws make him eligible to be an Italian citizen. George Romney was born in Mexican territory, which according to Mexico's laws made him a Mexican national.  Mexican law also makes anyone born to a parent born in Mexican territory a Mexican national by birth. The eligibility to be a "natural born citizen" should have absolutely nothing to do with anyone's possibility of being eligible for dual citizenship in another country.

• There's the whole thing about his SSN which was apparently disclosed. Obama's supposedly correlated to a a Connecticut address.  The SSA generally will assign SSNs based on mailing address and did so as some kind of bookkeeping thing that started before they used computers and was originally done because they issued SSNs via regional offices. The Obama campaign has spent over $3 million on legal fees since the election ended.  Somehow his detractors had conflated this with his campaign spending all of it on trying to hide his records (which are not public because of state and federal laws).  His campaign spent almost all of that total on answering Federal Elections Committee complaints (which they have to answer ever time an opponent lodges a complaint).  By the same token, the McCain campaign has spent over $2 million themselves.

• I have your answers and I hope this helps your dead horse rest in peace. 1) Yes, Obama will really still be a natural born American citizen regardless of anything his Indonesian stepfather might have done. You see, under US law it is a legal impossibility for a minor child to lose his birthright US citizenship. Or law does not recognize any attempt to strip a minor of US citizenship. Obama could only lose his US citizenship if he affirmatively renounces it. No such thing happened. 2) Obama i snot using a Social Security number not assigned to him. You've swallowed a lie. 3) Obama has not spent $1 million hiding anything at all. nothing has been spent hiding any records. Again, you have gullibly swallowed another lie. His school records, like yours and mine and everyone else's, already are private and sealed. Obama doesn't use a telepromter any more than any other president, and he sounds much more intelligent than Bush under any and all circumstances. There is nothing more to investigate. Obama Administration has restored America's promise of a future after saving the economy from the brink of the Second Great Republican Depression.  Most republicans in Congress act like ignorant clowns who would destroy America to defeat this president.

• I like what you said, and I'd like to add something that (sort of?) dovetails with your comments. Back in the '80's, Regan was President, and because of his tough stance on illegal immigrants, Immigration (aka "La Migra") conducted raids on illegal/undocumented aliens that were in the US.  During those raids, La Migra did a very heartless & dastardly deed:  They broke up families! Why would La Migra do such a cold-blooded act?  According to US citizenship regs, anyone born in the US--regardless of the citizenship of the parents--IS CONSIDERED AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.  Consequently,  because the parents of these American-born child were illegal/undocumented aliens, they were deported back to their country of origin.  BUT, because the children of these people were born on US soil, they were American citizens, and got to stay in the "good ole US of A"!  How this relates to President Obama, is that, as you mentioned, he was born in Hawaii, which at the time of his birth, was a US state for nearly two years.  That means, regardless of his father's Kenyan/British citizenhip, the fact that Obama was born in a US state, he was born on US soil and therefore is an American citizen (of course, the fact that Obama's mother was American, further establishes his US citizenship)!  By the way, because of the emotional trauma caused by the family breakups during the immigration raids, it contributed factors to the Reagan administration's change in immigration policy, thus granting amnesty to illegals in 1986.

• If I'm not mistaken, Hawaii became the 50th US state on August 21, 1959, and Obama's brith certificate (both long & short form), indicate he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, nearly two years after Hawaii's statehood.  Guess what birthers?  Obama was born in a US state, so that makes him a US citizen! Besides, it's my understanding that anyone born in Hawaii prior to 8/21/59--when it was a US territory--are ALSO considered US Citizens. Therefore, even if Obama was born prior to Hawaii's statehood (let's hypthetically say he was born 8/20/59, at 11:59p.m.), he'd STILL be an American Citizen! Furthermore, John McCain--you know, the patriotic, true-blooded, red-white-blue, All-American guy, that really should've won the '08 presidential election--was born in a former, US territory:  the Panama Canal Zone (nobody bitched & griped about McCain's birth/citizenship status)! "Ah, but Obama's father was from Kenya, therefore that secretly makes Obama a Kenyan citizen!" is one of the battle cries, of these birthers.  WRONG!  Kenya was STILL a British colony at the time of Barak Obama's birth, not achieving independence from the UK, until December 12, 1963.  I say old chap!  I guess that makes Obama's father a bloody Limey!  Pip, pip, cheerio! According to my American-born, Jewish friends, in addition to their American citizenship, they also have the right to Israeli citizenship.  Yet that doesn't necessarily mean they'll opt for Israeli citizenship, and neither does it secretly make them Israeli citizens!  Assuming Obama could opt for British or Kenyan citizenship, do birthers consider the possibility, that he opted to refuse them, and remain an American citizen?  Besides, despite being born in the Canal Zone, do we know whether or not John McCain is really secretly Panamanian (see third paragraph)? Alas, trying to convince birthers of their falacy, is like trying to nail Jell-O to a tree.  I guess for the birthers "denial" is a river in Egypt (hey at least, like Kenya, it's in Africa).  ;-)

• 1) Yes he is still a citizen. American law doesn't allow anyone else to take his citizenship away and US law isn't subservient to Indonesian or an other nation's laws, much to the dismay of birthers it would seem. 2) I'm sure that anyone who claimed SS benefits with someone else's SSN would be prosecuted. President Obama, to my understanding, has never claimed SS benefits and uses his own SSN. There are people who claim that he is using someone else's but I have seen no proof of this, just wild conjectures from people with dubious character and obvious motives. Some people with weak minds are willing to believe anything they are told if it reaffirms what they wan't to believe. 3) That's because he hasn't spent "$1million". He doesn't have to, universities don't release transcripts of students to third third parties. G. W. Bush didn't release his school records, they were illegally leaked. President Obama did very well in the debates without a teleprompter. I'm not sure what you have against teleprompters, every president in recent memory has used them including both Bushes and Reagan. Before teleprompters president's read from prepared notes. More people voted for President Obama than did for any other president in history anywhere in the world. You are a sore loser and you listen to sore losers.

• As you know, since the election of President Obama, quite a number of Know-Nothings (e.g., Orly Taitz, Barabara Coe, the Tea Party, etc.) have come out of the woodworks, railing against him and questioning his nationality of brith. Sadly, as they fight this misguided battle, these Know-Nothings profess Xtian beliefs and values, which is quite surprising, ironic, and hypocritical, because as we approach Xmas, they're going to be celebrating one of the most famous questionable births of all in history:  that of a Mexican Jew named "Jesus"! First of all, it all started with his Padre in el paraiso, who loved humanity so much, that He wanted to be present with them sobre la tierra.  So what did God do?  He had a young girl named Maria impregnated, so He could have a son on Earth (of course, to make the birth legit, He made sure to have Maria casado to Jose, so that Jesus would have an earthly dad).  Consequently, through His son Jesus, God would would have earthly citizenship and be among us.  Now if that doesn't make Jesus an anchor baby, I don't know what does! But wait, the plot thickens!  Because King Herod feared Jesus was the anchor baby that was going start the reconquista that would overthrow him, he had all the babies in his kingdom killed.  Because of this, Jose, Maria & Jesus had to escape to Egypt--without papers! And how come Jesus & his family were able to get into Egypt without documentation?  Hmmmm!  Perhaps because Jesus is really an African who was born in Egypt.......(?)  In that case, the Birthers, and other Know-Nothings, should demand to see Jesus' Egyptian birth certificate (both the short & long form)! Luckily, Jesus survived that unfortunate slaughter of innocent life, and as an adult, he would preach a very radical, socialist and revolutionary idea:  Only through Love and accepting one another--the same way God (Jesus' heavenly Father) loves & accepts us--can we overcome the fear and hatred existing on Earth.  Now that's what I call a reconquista! Unfortunately, Jesus would eventually be arrested and executed for his radical ideas.  But the great news is, he was able to spread his ideas to others, so that they could carry on the fight.  Viva la revolucion! So the next time any of those Know-Nothings want to hide their hatred of Obama, by cloaking it under patriotism, they need to remember that Jesus' teachings of love and acceptance (which started with his birth at Xmas), transcends international boundaries--and nationalities--and will NEVER be stopped. Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale & Joyeux Noel.
