Suicide by train?

That's the assumption of the Orange Police Department when it comes to the woman who was struck and killed by a Metrolink train this morning.

The operator of the southbound Inland Empire/Orange County line train saw the woman walking toward it at Orange Olive Road just north of Heim Avenue just before impact at 6:23 a.m., according to police.

Investigators believe she intended to die. Her identity had not yet been released.

The light holiday schedule meant only about 175 passengers were aboard the train at the time. They were taken by bus to the Orange station as the investigation closed the tracks for hours. Four other trains and hundreds of other commuters had to deal with the delay, according to Metrolink.

I'm looking for a suicide method and I think that a train is a good idea, because it's definite and fast.  Pills and cutting are no good, because they make you too sick and are too slow.  A train is definite and fast.

Although it is tragic when people think that dying is their best alternative, honestly, does this person really need to scar hundreds of people for the rest of their lives by killing themselves in such a way? The train operator, the people on the train, the witnesses on the ground, etc. Obviously they are not thinking straight to begin with, but if you MUST do it, don't bring others down with you. It's like the murder/suicide situations when the person kills others and then himself- just freaking go somewhere in private and kill yourself. If you feel that bad, why take it out on others?

Yeah, me too. I lived in a big city with a metro for quite a while, and every so often we'd get when of these assholes, throwing themselves under a train. Screwed up everyone's commutes.

Listen, you many OC Weekly Readers with emotional issues. Suicide is bad and irreversible, but if you must, please try pills or cutting yourself while in the bathtub. Easiest on everyone.
