Animal rights activists plan to spend their Black Friday not in lines in front of cash registers but in front of the malls themselves. That's because it's also Fur Free Friday, "the most widely attended annual demonstration in the
history of the animal protection movement," according to an email seeking supporters to join activists in Beverly Hills from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and/or in front of the Bloomingdale's entrance at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.
Fur Free Friday is actually being held worldwide, according to the advocates, whose email notes, "There's a Native Foods in Costa Mesa where we can recuperate after both demos!!"
Having been to that eatery, a word of advice: make sure your non-leather wallet is stuffed.
