Patricia Ann Serrano, 43, of Fountain Valley, is accused of having unlawful sex with the boy on two occasions last month, once in her home and the other time in a car, according to an Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA) statement.
Over the objections of prosecutors, an Orange County Superior Court judge in Westminster set Serrano's bail at $100,000 instead of the requested $250,000 today. Her arraignment is scheduled to continue Friday.
Serrano raised the suspicions of the young victim's mother, who discovered her in a locked room with her son. The OCDA statement alleges Serrano was kissing her son's friend behind the locked door. The boy's mother did not witness any sexual contact between the two, but she reported Serrano to Fountain Valley police, who conducted the investigation that led to her arrest Tuesday.

She is charged with three felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 with the sentencing enhancement for substantial sexual conduct with a child. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in state prison.
