Dexter Tagudin Villanueva, Knife-Wielding Rapist, Cries Like Little Bitch as He's Convicted

A 59-year-old woman was on her couch watching the last 15 minutes of Law and Order in her East Briarvale Avenue, Anaheim, home late at night on Aug. 10, 2009, when Dexter Tagudin Villanueva slithered in from an open back door. Wearing a bandana over his face and carrying a knife, the then-44-year-old Anaheim man threatened to stab the woman before raping her, at times putting a pillow over her face. He then asked where her purse was, stole her cash and threatened to kill her if she called police before he fled. It took a jury two hours to convict Villanueva of charges that could put him in prison for 100 years.

As she begged for mercy, he asked where her purse was, stole her cash and threatened to kill her if she called police before he fled.

It only took a jury two hours to convict Villanueva of charges that could put him in prison for 100 years.

But here's the best part: Villanueva cried like a little bitch as the verdicts were announced.

He had time for a good, long sob because he was found guilty of felony burglary, assault with intent to commit a sexual offense, sexual assault and making a criminal threat, as well as several sentencing enhancements were found true, including use of a knife to commit a crime.

His public defender despicably had tried to argue the woman, who was alone because her husband was on a business trip, wanted it.

Break out the tissue on Jan. 20, when Villanueva is scheduled to be sentenced in Santa Ana.

That's ironic, because on Law and Order it is always -- like 99% of the time -- a white guy who is the perp. If you got your view of reality from Law and Order, you'd think NYC had no 'people of color' criminals at all.

i dont get my live my life based on Law and Order, or any of those criminal shows, i shouldve just left that comment out of it. Its just opens up your mind to see things in a different way, rather than so closed minded.

I was referring to the actual post, not your comment. In the post the victim was supposedly watching Law and Order, i.e. watching some white guy commit and be prosecuted for a crime as if white people were the majority of criminals in NYC, shortly before a person of color victimized her.

Another sketchy case written up by a geeky ass bitch. They're convicting a man guilty of crimes that don't add up. Read the Articles, past and present. If Villanueva would've had a decent criminal lawyer & a jury who actually pays attention to the finer details of this case, then maybe the jury wouldn't of been so biased. Do you think the jury cares whether or not this man is guilty of all these charges? They're just there because they've been summoned for jury duty, favor for whatever sounds better and be glad they get to go home. It took the jury just 1 hour? 100 years? come on now, did they really look at both sides? this case needs to be looked at in another perspective. What if they we're having an affair? the 2011 article states, "Deputy Public Defender Paul Rogers contended that the sexual encounter was consensual and that the prosecutor did not prove the sexual assault had taken place". In my opinion, i think she's lying to protect her marriage because she was having an affair with another man while her husband was away on a business trip, so cliché. If she was home alone & it was late at night, why would she not check to see if all her doors are locked? You're 59 years old, why wouldn't you? Is it because she lives in a cul-de-sac? a safe place surrounded by neighbors? Sounds like the ideal spot to commit a crime right? i don't think so. Also, the 2011 article states, "Villanueva spent the next hour sexually assaulting the woman..." an HOUR.., really? who commits a crime of this nature and has the time to stay for an hour? crimes like these do not require an hour, we've all seen movies, we know how it works. Back in the 2009 article it stated, "On Monday night, Dexter Tagudin Villanueva, 44, walked into the woman's Anaheim house wearing a bandanna on his head and cloth below his eyes to cover his face..." 09 article also states, "Villanueva threatened to stab the woman as he sexually assaulted her, and at times put a pillow over the victim's face.." . Don't you think that the one hour assault had to of left bruises, wounds or some kind of physical injuries? No injuries or wounds were ever stated, just emotional. Some might say that the knife is what kept her from struggling, but was it ever stated that the knife was found with finger prints belonging to Villanueva? No, just DNA evidence. How in the world was this man singled out during a line up if his head and face were concealed and putting a pillow over the victims face? Maybe they were having an affair, something went wrong and escalated in the wrong direction. This is just my point of view based on the articles. In my honest opinion, those people of the jury don't think for themselves, they get manipulated and forced to be unjust by a good speaking attorney and a sad sob story. I'm not saying he is innocent, but 91 years to life? He doesn't deserve that. Try and look at the picture from another perspective, things aren't always what they seem. Only they know the truth.

i agree with what you are saying but the OC weekly is not here for deep thinking or analysis of any issue. If it can't be written in 10 minutes and be 600 words in length then it ain't worth writing about.

How do you know that he doesn't deserve the sentence? Were you in the courtroom? Were you on the jury? Did you hear all of the testimony? Have you ever been victimized or raped? And who is the "geeky ass bitch" that you are referring to in your post? The victim? Real nice. From my own experience with the OCDA they don't bring these cases to trial unless there is substantial evidence to get a conviction and going through a criminal trial as a victim/witness is total hell. It sounds like you have a personal interest in this case and/or you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

"Some might say that the knife is what kept her from struggling..." Try having a knife held to your throat and see how much you struggle. And then see what kind of emotional damage you suffer as a result. Until you yourself have been the victim of a violent crime please don't even attempt to comment on what may have happened, or how someone should have reacted, or how they should or shouldn't feel after the crime.
