[UPDATED with Suspect's Family Blackmailed?] Saeid Boustanabadi Maralan, Husband, Father, Rug Store Manager and Sex Offender, Now Has 11 Females Claiming He Flashed and/or Sexually Assaulted Them

Categories: Crime-iny
UPDATE, OCT. 28, 12:03 P.M.: The publisher of an Irvine-based Persian magazine threatened to blackmail the family of Saeid Boustanabadi Maralan, the Laguna Beach rug store by manager and registered sex offender facing up to 60 years to life in state prison for allegedly sexually assaulting and/or exposing himself to 11 women. Maralan's wife filed a report with the Laguna Beach Police Department claiming that Javad Mostafavi on multiple occasions demanded $3,000 or he'd print the booking photo at right on the cover of his Payam-e-Ashena publication, even sending her a mock-up of such a cover.

Mostafavi, 70, of Irvine, has been arrested on suspicion of extortion, confirms Laguna Beach Police  Lt. Jason Kravetz.

Maralan, a 53-year-old Laguna Niguel resident who also has a daughter, had an extensive record of sexual assault convictions in Los Angeles County before his current troubles in Orange County, where he is being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail.

Most of the assaults allegedly occurred at the Sirous and Sons rug store in Laguna Beach Maralan managed.

ORIGINAL POST, OCT. 21, 5:38 P.M.: It's getting to the point where it might be easier to identify women who have not been sexually assaulted in a Laguna Beach rug store by manager (and registered sex offender) Saeid Boustanabadi Maralan.

Three more women have come forward with allegations against the 53-year-old Laguna Niguel man, who is married with a daughter. There are now 11 females who have accused the Sirous and Sons rug store manager as their flasher and/or attacker.

Most damning: none of the victims know one another.

Maralan now faces a maximum sentence of 60 years to life in state prison if convicted of all the new and past charges against him in this case.

Our previous post and updates lay out the case based on the accusations of the first eight victims:

Here are the latest allegations, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA):

Jane Doe #9: In November 2010, 61-year-old Jane Doe #9 visited Maralan's rug store with a friend to pick up a rug she had on consignment. Maralan is accused of taking Jane Doe #9 to the back of the store under the pretense of showing her something while the victim's friend remained in the front of the store. He is accused of grabbing Jane Doe #9 by the waist and telling her he hadn't had sex in months. When Jane Doe #9 pulled away and asked him what he was doing, Maralan is accused of telling her he wanted her hips. Jane Doe #9 was able to get away and left the store with her friend.

Jane Doe #10: In January 2009, 47-year-old Jane Doe #10 went into Maralan's rug store to have a rug cleaned. Maralan is accused of asking her to go to the back room with him to look at some "antique pieces." Jane Doe #10 declined and left the store. While the victim was driving home, Maralan is accused of calling her and telling her he felt energy between them. He is accused calling her repeatedly over the next few days and asking her out to dinner, to which Jane Doe #10 finally agreed. After the date, Maralan is accused of driving Jane Doe #10 back to her office building and parking the car. He is accused of locking the doors and trying to touch and kiss her. After 10 minutes of Jane Doe #10 asking the defendant to unlock the doors, Maralan is accused of unlocking the doors and meeting the victim on the passenger side of the vehicle. He is accused of forcing himself on her, wrapping his arms around her tightly so she could not escape, and kissing her. The defendant is accused of rubbing his erect penis against her body through his clothing. He is accused of asking Jane Doe #10 for "love" and to go back to her place. The victim told him "no" and was able to release herself from his grasp and leave the scene.

Jane Doe #11: In July 2007, 49-year-old Jane Doe #11 had her rugs picked up by a service to have them cleaned. Two hours later, Maralan is accused of calling Jane Doe #11 and telling her the rugs were at his store and to come in as soon as possible so he could show her how they would be washed. The victim declined, and Maralan is accused of repeatedly calling and asking her to come into the Laguna Beach rug store for various reasons regarding the cleaning of her rugs. A month later, Jane Doe #11 went to the rug store to exchange the rug. Maralan is accused of taking the victim to the back of the store and instructing her to stay there while he walked to the front doors and locked them. He is accused of returning to Jane Doe #11 and coming at her with open arms and trying to kiss her. When Jane Doe #11 pushed against him, Maralan is accused of pulling down his pants and exposing his penis. He is accused of grabbing the victim's hand and pulling it towards his penis, asking her to touch it and hold it. Jane Doe #11 was able to pull away and told Maralan she would tell his wife about the sexual assault. Maralan is accused of pulling up his pants and unlocking the front doors of the store to let the victim out.

The amended complaint adds two felony counts of sexual battery by restraint and one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure to these charges based on the first eight victims: two felony counts of sexual battery by restraint, two felony counts of forcible rape, two felony counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object by force, and one felony count each of attempted forcible rape, distributing pornography to a minor, attempted forcible oral copulation, and one misdemeanor count each of false imprisonment and indecent exposure with sentencing enhancement allegations for committing a sexual offense against more than one victim.

Currently being held on $1.5 million bail, Maralan has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Nov. 17 at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Media coverage has prompted other victims to come forward. The OCDA encourages anyone with additional information or who believes they have been a victim to contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Lou Gutierrez at 714.347.8794 or Laguna Beach Police Detective Julia Bowman at 949.497.0377.

I read that Saeid had extensive sexual impropriety charges in the Los Angeles area. What name or names did he go by at that time? Under TAK CONSULTANT ENGINEERS v. SAM BUSTANI ..., this person went by six different names. What kind of people do that, and why do they do that? Cesar Gomez did go by by three different names, when he was caught in Garden Grove for the murder of a person. Saeid threatened to do phyusical harm to the family of one of the officers of TAK (named above). If his previous improprieties were posted to alert the public about his character, could he have been able to pull all the dastardly acts that he pulled upon society? In addition, I read that he is not the owner of the store in Laguna Beach, yet several of his adds in Google posted him as the owner. Did any of the police department personnel follow the financial trail of his claim that he is not the owner of the business? Find out the source of the money that established his business at the Sirous And Sons Rug Gallery in Laguna Beach. This person is the worst human being and liar that I have ever dealt with. I have been told that this person had a holding corporation in Las Vegas, NA with the fax legend number 702-220-4594. He and I had signed a CPPA contract, wherein he was to buy my property in Corona Del Mar. The CPPA was subject to him obtaining a loan approval for the purchase. In the contract he had next to his name "/or assigns". Later I was led to believe that the assigns was his mother. neither he, nor his assigns came up with the required down payment. So I cancelled the contract. Over four months later, after stealing more than a million dollars worth of very valuable antique and very valuable old Oriental rugs from me, he produced a loan denial paper from Stellar Financial Services, Inc. of 2101 E. 4th Street Ste. A100, Santa Ana, CA 92705, 714-835-2300 to my lying lawyer, who turned out to be in collusion both with my opponent and with his lying lawyer. The date of the denial was  10/20/2007. On one denial form the date is missing. On another denial form there is a Newport Beach, CA area fax legend 949-718-2910. Yet the phone number of the loan company is 714 in Santa Ana, CA. My colluding lawyer simply dismissed it as not worth looking into it. Had I not been misled about my lawyer's background, I would never have retained him. I was led to believe by a BYU graduated lawyer that he was LDS. He turned out to be a Mormon, and not LDS. During the 19th century other Christian denominations preferred to refer to the members of the LDS Church as Mormons, because calling them Latter-day Saints would be praise worthy. The opponents of the LDS Church preferred to call the members as bad a name as they could. LDS would be akin to what the followers of Jehovah were called in the Old Testament, saints. The followers of Christ were called saints in the New Testament. The Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Christ of the New Testament (1 Cor. 10:1-4). Therefore, in these latter days LDS is very appropriate to refer to the members of the Savior. This was a commandment given to Joseph Smith, Jr., the prophet who was used by God as the restorer of the Church in these last days. Joseph Smith, Jr., not a scholar by any means of the learnings of man, did not figure this out by himself.       Several people who had done business with him told me that this person might murder me and my wife if I don't relent in my legal pursuit against him. The TAK paper mentioned above kind of supported all the advice I got. In addition, on 12/19/2007 I went to my business location in Corona Del Mar with two helpers to empty my inventory and other assets from the back room. My opponent involved himself in this process with his two helpers. (At this time he had leased my place.) Not a single one of my collection of antique rugs made it into my van at this occasion. I would state the amount of the rugs left there at at least between 60-70, mostly small nomadic pieces, worth by present estimates at least $500,000.00. Later that day retired Judge Seymour called and asked me to return to him his two NoMove pads measuring about 6'x18'. I asked the Judge to meet me at the address in twenty minutes. Then I called Saeid and informed him that the judge and I will be there in twenty minutes to pick up his pads. When we got there, we found the door locked up, and his two helpers waiting in front of the store. I did not want to waste my clients time and have him make another trip later; so, I called the police. Soon two police officers responded. They talked with his two helpers, who called him on their cell phone and had him talk with the police. He returned in twenty minutes. He was madder than hell. I described to him what we were there for. He made at least two or three trips to no avail. I offered to go in and pick up the items from the back of the shop myself. He would have none of that. In fact he made such a big and ugly fuss about me stepping a single foot inside the front door, that I taught this person would kill me in front of the police officers. One could see fire coming out of his eyes. He was so threatening of my stepping inside the shop. Had I stepped inside, I would have seen all the antique rugs from my back room there. He would have been caught red handed. Yet one of the police officers stood at the door blocking my view of the inside of the shop. All of the above plus a lot more that I have not covered here proves the incompetence of some police officers, whose dereliction of their duties have emboldened the deeds of criminals like Saeid Maralan in his CPPA contract with me, Saeid Bustani at his Del Mar Rug Gallery in San Clemente, Saeid Bustanimaralan Ghasemian at his 222 Ocean Ave., Laguna Beach, CA store as it appeared in Laguna Beach Independent at first, with the same appearing in Google, Ahmad B. Maralan at his Bank of America personal account, and now Saeid Boustanabadi Maralan, plus several other aliases in the Google article mentioned above. I wonder how many drivers licenses this criminal has?

That's a huge number of women. I imagine there are a lot of women that are too  embarrassed to come out and say anything. It's really amazing that he would do this at his store, and not expect repercussions. I wonder if they can get his DNA to see if rapes have occurred in the community.

How did we get along before all the "Persian" immigration? What did we do for laughs? For floor coverings?
