Daniel John Sullivan, OC Homicide No. 53: Brother Laurence William Sullivan Held in Stabbing-Murder

At least one knife was introduced in a fight between two brothers in the family home in Irvine Sunday night, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Daniel John Sullivan and murder arrest of Laurence William Sullivan, 33, police say. The cause of the altercation is still under investigation, according to a statement from Irvine Police Lt. Julia Engen, the department spokeswoman.

About 10 p.m. Sunday, police and the Orange County Fire Authority were called about a possible assault in the 4100 block of Old Mill Street in Irvine. Dispatchers were told one brother stabbed the other multiple times.

Officers arrived to find both Sullivans nursing wounds. Daniel Sullivan was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:23 p.m. Laurence Sullivan was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

Just after 7 a.m. this morning, Laurence Sullivan was arrested by Irvine detectives on suspicion of murder and booked into Orange County Jail. Bail has not yet been determined. Police do not believe anyone other than the two brothers were involved in the altercation.

Knew and worked with Dan at our Walmart store in Sylva, North Carolina...we are all so shocked!! He was a great guy who so loved his little girl...our hearts are broken at the news of his passing!!! Our love and prayers are with his family...you will surely be missed Dan...RIP my friend!!!

I know their mom, from a friend here in Houston area, we would all karaoke at Henry Wayns with a bunch of her Boeing and Lockheed Martin friends every Saturday night. She would talk about her 2 boys back in So. Cal. We all here in Houston say a prayer for her family, as she fly back in mourning of one and to comfort her only other. we are all with you, J........ all of us from Houston

Thank you Houston. Anyone who jumps in and starts passing judgment without knowing any of the facts in nothing but a gossip monger. One step up from the sludge. Worse, The comments from others "White" in capital letters. Yes "White" was in capitals since it was a start of a sentence. Even racists people who can write do that.

Meanwhile while everyone is judging, he had a 3 year old little girl who adored her Daddy. So, while you make your comments, Mom, Dad, daughter are all grieving to the point that it's going to take more than just time. The family is completely devastated, and a little girl who did nothing wrong cries out for her Daddy. Death is forever-
