Adam Kennedy, Former Angel Popped for DUI, Learns His Fate

The major leaguer who played for the Seattle Mariners this past season has learned his fate.
In exchange for a guilty plea to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, he was sentenced to the "California minimum."
That's two days in jail, three years probation, $390 in fines and enrollment in a three-month, first-offender alcohol program, according to court records. A second misdemeanor DUI count was dropped.
Kennedy's attorney says his client was given credit for time served in jail overnight and won't have to spend any more time behind bars. Well, no more time if he doesn't violate his probation. The mouthpiece added that Kennedy wanted to plead out after the season so his first brush with the law does not carry into next season.
A hero of the 2002 World Series victory for the Halos, Kennedy was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol around 9 p.m. one evening in January on the northbound 73 tollway.
