Yes, remaining sober in Westminster is a chore, but if you plan on drinking and driving through that fair city Saturday night, you may want to ditch the drinking part until you reach your destination.

Police there are running a sobriety checkpoint at Westminster Boulevard and Magnolia Street from 8 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Officers will check for proper licensing, signs of intoxication, yadda yadda yadda . . .

Those suspected of imbibing face a field sobriety test, possible jail time, vehicle storage fees, license suspension, insurance rate increases, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.

So, yeah, while the need for a stiff one is palpable in the WM, don't drink and drive there, m' kay?
