The unidentified girl took a bus ticket she believed the Italian boy had bought her so she could see her brother in Arizona. But the trip actually stopped at Sackman's spacious duplex near Desert Princess Country Club. He allegedly fed the teen meth there before she was sexually assaulted several times over the next week.
On Friday, the girl's mother called police about her runaway daughter. The mom had done some snooping and zeroed in on the Cathedral City area. Sackman, who was known to police there, was uncooperative when officers first approached him, reports the Desert Sun. The girl was eventually found in a "hidden" area of Sackman's home. Cops claim their suspect admitted to them some of what the girl claimed he did to her.
But on Tuesday, Sackman pleaded not guilty at the Larson Justice Center in Indio to felony charges of rape, unlawful sex with a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. He was being held at Riverside County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
