The Wedge Forecast: 20-Foot Waves
A strong Antarctic storm churning up waves off New Zealand is expected to start bringing more of the same to our coast by Thursday, with experts predicting local swells continuing to grow through the weekend.
What were forecast as 4- to 6-foot waves at the Wedge by 11 a.m. today are expected to be 10- to 14-feet at the same time Thursday, reports Surfline, which predicts the largest wave sets of the summer with possible beach erosion and coastal flooding.
