Do you want to know why the price of a 12-ounce beer at Angel Stadium just increased to $17.95 and peanuts are now 80 cents per shell?

Blame Elegant Openings, Inc., a  popular Fountain Valley window and door installation business.

Of course, I kid.

But Anaheim's professional baseball team is suing Elegant Openings and Michael Sorochman, its owner, for allegedly violating a 2008 contract and stiffing the organization $234,132.

According to a lawsuit filed this week in Orange County Superior Court, the two parties agreed in 2008 that Elegant Openings would have stadium Club Level Suite access until the final game of the 2013 season in exchange for $485,000.

The team's lawyer claims they complied with the agreement, but that the business breached the contract by stopping payment at $251,000.

That lawyer also claims that Sorochman has not responded to a May letter demanding payment, according to the court file.

Sorochman has not yet filed a legal response, but the case has been assigned to Superior Court Judge Robert Moss.

Absent payment, the team is demanding a jury trial.
