[UPDATED with Retirement:] Gay Davidson-Shepard, Former Surf City Teacher Union Chief, and Retired Science Teacher Husband Accused of Sex with 17-Year-Old Boy

​UPDATE, JULY 26, 1:15 P.M.: Remember that creepy . . . excuse me, allegedly creepy . . . Huntington Beach teaching couple accused of sexually tag-teaming a 17-year-old student?

Well, Gay Davidson-Shepard, 59, joined her 62-year-old husband Daniel Alma Shepard in retirement, according to a published report.

Charges against the couple had Davidson-Shepard, a former Huntington Beach teacher union president, on administrative leave since April. Her retirement became effective the following month, reports the Huntington Beach Independent.

She leaves the Ocean View School District, where her final assignment was at Mesa View Middle School.
 
UPDATE, APRIL 25, 4:47 P.M.: Quoting an unnamed "spokesman for prosecutors," a Los Angeles-based television station reports today that more possible victims of Daniel Alma Shepard and Gay Davidson-Shepard have come forward.

UPDATE, APRIL 21, 5:07 P.M.: According to the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA), Daniel Alma Shepard and Gay Davidson-Shepard each made their $150,000 bail and are out of custody. They were to be arraigned Friday, but that has been rescheduled to 9 a.m. May 19 in Westminster, the OCDA adds.

As we'd previously reported, the Hungtington Beach Union High School District's online Westminster High School page still lists Dan Shepard as part of the science faculty. But a Los Angeles television station reports he is retired.
