I have never meant to downplay what happened to this man. His wife SHOULD be sent to prison for life. She committed a despicable, violent act. The point I was trying to make is that FGM has been going on and is still going on but it seems it causes so much less outrage. There is no excuse to mutilate anyone's sexual organs. Ever.

I agree it's the insensitivy shown by some is unfair considering what our gender has been through and please know that many woman including myself are outraged by anyone being sexually violated or disfigured in ways such as this. 

What I find interesting is how  many women are laughing at this story when those same women would be and should outraged about the same crimes hapening to women all over the world.  If men laughed at that, they'd be pissed as hell. Neither is more or less despicable, genital mutilation and laughing about is despicable, in my opinion.

And what do you mean by "one man's penis", a horrific act of violence is just that, a horrific act of violence whether it happens to one or thousands.

As far as I know, no men that I have ever met in this side of the globe does agree or is okay with the customary ritual of clitoris mutilation still practiced today in some parts of the planet. On the other hand, many of the human rights activists involved in the fight against this ritual are men. But that I don't think that's the point many of the bloggers want to call to attention                                                                                                   .    It is just incredible to read how insensitive and cruel the female society has become in America when it comes to abuse and cruelty against men. But, they are not the only ones, just look at the posts of several American men who laugh and make fun of male mutilation and torture. It is obvious that such behaviors will just make injustice and abuse towards men more acceptable and not punishable by our so "call" criminal system. I believe it is time for American women to show the same sensitivity and support they have received from males in general when it comes to crimes of torture, rape and violence. Finally, American men should stop perpetuating the stigma of "Pussyfication of the American Men" and start talking loud and clear to stop the abuse in the forms of laugh, indifference, and littleness perpetuated to men in our society.
