If you and a few friends are going to be partake in a bit of drinking and debauchery in San Clemente on this Friday evening, be sure to cut someone off early or assign the dreaded DD role when the night begins. The city's finest will be stationed at a sobriety checkpoint, looking to take a few drunk drivers and invalid/unlicensed drivers off the street.

According to the press release from the Sheriff's Department, the checkpoint will begin at 6:30 p.m. and run until 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Unless you're fine with spending thousands of dollars on legal fees, going without a vehicle for the next year and having a major ding on your record, maybe it's best not to get behind the wheel after throwing a few back.

First of all, the use of the word "retard" is a an offensive word not unlike most ethntc derogatory words.Your use of this word only shows your lack of respect for mentaly disabled men, women and children. As far as DUI checkpoints go, they are set up to prevent drunk drivers from operating motor vehicles, therefore reducing the amount of accidents, injuries and deaths caused by them.
