High School Grade-Altering Scam Nets Ex-Student Jail Sentence

• This kid should be in jail to see how the big boys play. This isn't casually glancing at your friends' paper in a Spanish I quiz while you accidentally sneeze! This was pre-meditated, he put spyware software on several computers, broke in several times. Luckily he wasn't smart enough to not get caught. Criminals often are just dumb enough... I hear that he's on scholarship to cal poly pomona. what kind of institution would give him a merit-based scholarship--he obviously doesn't have any merit. He lives in Coto de Caza. His parents may be hard up for cash since they tried to bail him out, and fix everything for him..but does that qualify one for financial hardship? Maybe his dad's company paid for him to go away...and gave him a scholarship. That way it's a charitable donation...not tuition...and therefore deductible. Who KNOWS how this was orchestrated since the kid is a cheat and a liar and a creep. I wonder what his parents/friends are like to have created such an upstanding young man in our midst. MAYBE a relative is in charge of financial aid at the school. In any event, he should not have received his HS diploma. Just like at a job if you commit fraud you don't get your year-end bonus (you also get FIRED!) he should have had his first consequenses be that of not getting a diploma. Then he could have started a window-washing business or something...or attended online college or gone to some foreign country (where are his ancestors?) and attended there. He really doesn't deserve to take up a slot at a college here when another student (probably not a fraud, cheat, liar and convicetd FELON) probably wanted in. This whole story makes me sick.

• didn't he get enough punishment as it is? 3 years of torture, $15k to Tesoro's principal to buy a new car for his kid, jail time, public humiliation. why further punish by publishing his photo over and over again?

• I agree. Jail time for an offense like this? Give the guy some extra essays to write and let it go. Why is this still talked about? There are molestors that walk in court but a kid doesn't get justice. I also know about Tesoro High and how bigoted everyone is in that jail of a school. Maybe the principal Daniel Birch should be prosecuted for not locking the doors. Then we'll see if the judge won't dismiss the case because he is his next door neighbor.

• How pathetic is it that our tax dollars are going towards prosecuting kids who cheat in school while a rapist is getting away with it in Irvine somewhere. Good job Chuck Lawhorn (the DA on this case). Tesoro High School houses kids of racist, snobby, protestant, unethical people such as DA's, judges, etc. Real Housewives of OC have kids going there so it is a fake town for sure. This case should have been a junvenile case. Did you know that 13 other kids were not charged because their birthdays were after this kid's? Justice. Wow...
