Reading of Award-Winning Play The Mexican O.C. TOMORROW at Hunt Fullerton Library

​Back in 2006, the brand-new Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble took OC's play-loving world by storm with its debut production: The Mexican O.C., a play produced from hundreds of hours of interviews with titans in Orange County's Latino community whom the regular history books had long overlooked. It had a month-long run to sold-out crowds--and hasn't been staged since.

That changes tomorrow at 6:30 p.m., when Breath of Fire head Sara Guerrero and cast members do a partial reading to kick off "Gustavo's Awesome Lecture Series," my monthly salon at the Fullerton Public Library.

The theater company has big plans for The Mexican O.C.'s fifth anniversary: recordings, a script, further stagings across Orange County, and sequels to the momentous play.
