Comment by JOLAND7: I don't understand why stories like this are news. Anaheim, Santa Ana, Corona, etc. are all crap holes and have been crap holes for years. (I wonder why?) If you go into one of these cities, there's a strong possibility you'll be robbed, shot at or killed. There have only been eight days to this year, and we've had multiple stories about robberies, shootings, stabbings and domestic-violence reports in these cities. The next story (probably in a few hours) should just read, "Yet Another Violent Crime in Crap Hole City."

I've been working in Santa Ana for more than 13 years, now. I'm white, I'm in my 60's. I'm decidedly unhip and totally unimposing looking (5'9", 195 lbs., kinda tubby.) I've never been harassed, bothered, jumped, robbed, beaten, stabbed, shot, mugged, etc...or even threatened with any of that.

Maybe it's because I'm unafraid? Unbothered by the presence of others who are younger, who look different from me, who are of different ethnicity than I, or who speak a different language? (I do speak some Spanish though; maybe that helps, too.)

At any rate, some of you guys protest waaaay too much. If it ain't Irvine, you guys think it's a toilet. Try chaning your initial attitudes and assumptions and who knows, maybe your experiences will change, too.

Honestly, Idk why people talk so much trash on Santa Ana. If you don't live there then stop talking crap. I've lived here all my life never been jumped yeah ive been stared down by those stupid gangsters but besides that most of the same stuff ive seen here I see in Irvine, Anaheim Hills, Etc. And before you start saying SHHH about me being a dropout im a graduate from UCI (Chemistry Major) Born and Raised by illegal aliens.
