This week's ugly police mug of the week belongs to someone whose arrest, conviction and sentencing you've already read about.
It's Verne Joseph Strong, 57, of Newport Beach, who was sentenced Dec. 16 to 317 days in jail for swinging 8-pound, 8-month-old chihuahua-dachshund mix puppy Meanie by a leash like a lasso during a fight with his girlfriend in a Walmart parking lot.
We'll see if Strong's girlfriend, Angel Marie Holmes, 37, of Newport Beach, also deserves the ugly mug treatment when her felony accessory after the fact trial begins.
