It's a thorough list, except for one thing: it omitted arguably the top local political story of the year.

- The arrest of congressional candidate Delecia Holt for identity theft.
(I'm not sure the Dunn story was that big.)
But what did Wisckol omit?
The stunning, lopsided June victory of Orange County's first elected female sheriff: Sandra Hutchens who defeated two feisty--and decidedly more conservative--challengers, ex-San Clemente police chief Bill Hunt and Craig Hunter, Anaheim's deputy police chief.
