[UPDATED WITH VIDEO] San Clementian Pat Gudauskas, Final OC Surfer Competing At Pipeline, Loses In Round 3

Gudauskas, of San Clemente, was the only remaining OC representation competing at Pipeline, in the final stop of the 10-event ASP World Tour. HB's Brett Simpson fell in Round 2, and Pat's brother, Tanner, and Nate Yeomans didn't qualify through the Tour's midpoint cutoff.
Surfing opposite of Gudauskas was Dane Reynolds, one of the most highly-touted surfers in the sport today. Unfortunately for both, the conditions on offer were again not classic Pipeline. Barrels were out there to be found, but few and far between.
In the closing minutes, in need of two decent scoring waves, Gudauskas did manage to find one Backdoor gem, a long barrel that netted him the highest-scoring wave of the heat, 7.83. With the final minutes ticking off the clock, needing a 5.6, nothing appeared on the horizon, bringing a close to his and OC's 2010 World Tour.
Both Gudauskas and Simpson requalified for the World Tour in 2011. Tanner Gudauskas and Nate Yeomans will have to re-enter the World Qualifying Series grind in hopes of regaining a spot in 2012.
