John Steinbock, Former Pedo-Priest-Protecting Diocese of Orange Bishop and Current Fresno Bishop, Now Rotting in Hell

• I think of the victims of Father Al Ramos many of whom would have been spared their terror and a lifetime of suffering if Bishop Steinbock had reported Ramos to the police or simply defrocked him. I cannot Judge Bishop Steinbock but I do recall the phrase from the Gospel of Matthew- " It would be better to put a stone around one's neck and cast yourself into the sea......" John Manly

• Preachers are just men and women who are not neccessarily more spiritusl just better trained in memorizing the words in a book There are good and bad in churches, mosques temples, ashrams and all houses or places of worship. Knowing rules and words better does not make you the better person. We do our children an injustice and maybe even unwittingly set them up as prey if we don't teach them this early. if your children are old enough to be left with others they are old enough to be taught about good and bad and how to avoid it or if you cant to be brave and to tell no matter what the threat.

• Thanks to the OC Weekly and Gustavo for reporting the truths about sexual predators that have destroyed the lives of children and families for decades, with the blessing of freedom of religion privilege and a Catholic OC District Attorney. With no disrepect intended, Did Bishop Steinbock die of mesothelioma? If so, I am sure the Church will jump into some type of mesothelioma class action to recoup some of the damages the Church has already paid out for heinous sex crimes against children. To Mary: Thank you for sharing Eric Zapala's family website about Eric's struggles based on his childhood sex abuse committed by one of the wealthy and politically-connected Catholic priests supervised by the Diocese of Orange and in my opinion, its corrupt attorneys. Did not know Eric but wish he could have found peace before his death.

Pretending that these crimes didn't happen will only allow more children to be destroyed. I personally salute the bravery of all of the victims of Ramos and Coughlin. It is only because of them that the actions of officials like Steinbock were publicly exposed.
