For two days in a row, Disneyland Resort shut down admissions to their parks due to high attendance and crowding.

According to the Los Angeles Times, approximately 75,000 to 100,000 visitors visit the Disneyland Resort on Monday and Tuesday.

By 10 a.m. yesterday, Disney tweeted that "Disneyland Resort extremely popular today due to holiday offerings. Disneyland park access is temporarily limited."

The story goes on to explain some families were waiting 45 minutes in traffic at the Harbor Boulevard 5 Freeway exit.

Disneyland attendance rates have been slowly on the rise since 2008. The park experienced 15.9 million visitors in 2009, according to the Theme Entertainment Association/Economics Research Associates' Theme Park Attendance Report. In 2008, Disneyland attendance was recorded at 14,721,000--a one-percent drop from the year before. However, Disney World isn't doing as well as its big sister: As we reported on Dec. 7, Disney has been accused of hiding poor park attendance statistics due to the popularity of the new Harry Potter section of Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park.
